As I said last night I believe Romo was the MVP of that game because he was clutch at the end but were 3-4 times he should have run the ball with tons of open space in front of him. Not sure what has happened to him in that regards other than him being scared of getting hit. I can't come up with anything else.
Tough to run with a bad back unless you just have to. I suspect he wasn't in the mood to run just to be running.

Listen I already gave him credit but there were times he had wide open space in front of him and he wouldn't run. That's wouldn't have been running just to run.

Like I say. Hard to run with a bad back space or no space. Folks with back problems can attest to that. It's not a matter of defending Romo. It is just a statement about running with a bad back.

Except for one play it looked like he was moving fine. He left yards on the field on multiple occasions. And, if there was ever a game where you put it all on the line it was yesterday, and then again next Sunday. He should have ran the ball on multiple plays where he didn't.

Not running when tons of free yards are there for the taking has been an issue with Romo the past few years.

He just doesn't want to run anymore.

:lol

The week before they got blown out by the lowly Vikings and McCoy finished with 38 yards. The Eagles are fully capable of putting on a stinker like that again. Not that it really matters because Dallas can't hang with the elite teams in the NFL once they are in the playoffs but I'm not going to curl in the fetal position and pretend like we are all just waiting for a good rape next weekend.
Fine, but they were on a 5 game win streak before that and they blew out a Bears team who blew us out just a couple weeks ago. We're fully capable of putting on a stinker as well.

I'm not preparing for rape either, but sure hope that they use the run game to slow it down. Romo seems to keep his composure late in the game better when he's relied on the RB through the first 3 1/2 quarters.

so I guess Ware is no longer a 4-3 defensive end? i don't think I saw his hand on the ground once yesterday.

Should have and could have are two entirely different things. And that's all LT is trying to say. If he was unable to take off and run, there's not much else to say. Looked like he was having trouble with basic stuff back there. Also, noticed they weren't calling as many rollout passes as they normally do. And his back was probably the reason why.

He even dropped into coverage at least once that I saw.

What are you talking about? They haven't been calling rollouts all season. It's been a major bitch of mine all year.

The point still stands, he was moving fine and left a lot of yards on the field where he could have run and didn't.

Pay close attention to the bolded part.

I was talking about only yesterday, when it seemed he was favoring his back.

And yeah, before yesterday, Romo has been rolling out.

May be due to a bad Romo back.:art

Pay close attention to what you said in the post before. "They weren't calling as many rollout passes as they normally do". They haven't been all season, so the point is moot.

Even when you say Romo should be named MVP but call out a small lacking in his game people still come running to defend him. :lol

Yes. They have.

Just because they maybe haven't called as many as you'd like, doesn't mean they haven't been calling them.

It's odd, since they've never done anything worthy of it, but I'm really taking pleasure in the Lion's and Jim Swartz' collapse and demise.

Not defending him, per se.

More calling out the stupidity. If he's unable to do something, so be it. I wished he would have run a few times, too.

He was moving around just fine. With the season on the line you put it all out there no matter what. He didn't do that. Plus, at least in the first half he played like a scared little girl yet again. But, he came through in the clutch and at least for yesterday that's all that matters in the end, so he was the MVP of the game, IMO.

Stafford should really been getting the Romo treatment. That dude has been brutal in December games.

No one cares about the Lions though so I don't expect the media to spend a lot of time talking about it, but man he's been bad. He's starting to remind me of Jeff George.
