Ended up winning 15-2 and Martin Perez was excellent again. Weird thing is, Perez is actually having a better season than (injured) deGrom, if you go strictly on ERA - 2.41 to 2.67.

And they didnt even know if was well enough to make the start. During warmups he was so erratic the managers was informed that it would be a heavy bullpen day. Sounds like a tall tale but this was from the recent Facing Nolan documentary. After the his part of the first inning he told the offense - "Just give me 1 run. That's all I will need."

Yeah, I've changed my mind on this. It's actually helped the game a lot.

Maybe they could relax things somehow during the playoffs. That would be fine. But it's made regular season games much more watchable.
