I was thinking about this the other day and didn't remember seeing any thread that covered this, if there is feel free to delete it, moderators. Working out has become a huge part of my life over the last 3 years and I'm always trying to learn new things that will give me an edge. It's a little more challenging in my 50s than it was in my 20s. Anyone else spending time in the gym these days?

Oh yeah. Been doing it since I was a kid. Mid 50s now and still going. It's actually pretty essential to my mental (and of course physical) health.

Almost a year ago now I got what apparently is a sports hernia and other than a few weeks when it got better, it's kept me from squatting and that's driving me absolutely crazy. But still doing pretty much everything else.

I developed tendinitis in my left elbow about 2 years ago and had to quit for 6 months while it healed. My energy level took a fucking nosedive.

Do you take any supplements?

I do, just the basics. but more for general health and sleep. I don't know how much (if any) good they do, but they're relatively cheap and to me it's worth the money. About ten years ago I developed bad sleep problems so I'll try almost anything if it might help me sleep better.

I started going a little harder on legs last week and my fucking knees were killing me for several days. Never had that issue before.

I have bad knees and orthopedist told me to give up squatting.

Bought a DB Method machine a while back and it has helped tremendously.

Very little resistance & I'm never gonna have huge legs, but I feel much better when able to get some squats in.

I do 20 rep sets and knock out 400 twice a week.

It gives me the closest thing I'll ever get to squat noodle legs.

Pretty sure it's marketed to women to shape the ass, but it's great for old knees that can't handle the stress of weighted squats.

My wife did comment that my ass was looking mighty fine last week.

Same, it doesn't matter how much I could squat. That looks like a pretty good solution. I need to build my glutes too. I've got an ass like a CD case right now.

You could probably find one on Marketplace for cheap.

They sold a bunch of them a couple years ago when one of the Kardashians was pushing them.

Can you deadlift? Maybe forcing your knees way back or something? Maybe box squatting so you can sit way back kind of like with this machine?

Not sure where you're located, but i found a lot of them available on a nationwide search for around $100.

I do Australian deadlifts with dumbbells. I may try to stick with some that don't require a lot of knee bending and see if that makes a difference. Also may buy a knee brace. I bought one for my elbow a couple of years ago when i was having tendonitis issues but I'm not sure how big a difference it made.

Go get a knee one for your elbow. Then comment to anybody that will listen that you had to get a knee one because you outgrew ( throw up the guns) the elbow ones. Then say you saw some football player doing it.
