Stock Report: Tanner up and Ratliff is down

After four preseason games the Cowboys are 2-2, thanks to a 24-18 victory over theCincinnati Bengals on Saturday night.
With that we give our weekly Stock Report.
Stock up
Phillip Tanner. The No. 3 running back moved up the depth chart with Lance Dunbar (foot) out with his injury. When DeMarco Murray was benched after two possessions, Tanner took over and did a solid job in the running game. Tanner rushed 14 times for 39 yards and while he averaged just 2.8 yards per carry, he proved his worth to the Cowboys' front office with his performance.
B.W. Webb. The rookie cornerback has improved since the Hall of Fame game. Saturday night, he picked up an interception off an Andy Dalton pass in the middle of the field. Each week, Webb is showing he can play in the slot and as an outside cornerback and he's not afraid to mix it up with receivers.
DeVonte Holloman. How many times is he going to be listed here? Last week an interception, Saturday night another sack. He's not going to start or anything of that nature, but he's someone the Cowboys need to get on the field when the regular season starts. He has a way of finding the ball whether it's in the passing or running games.
Stock Down
Special teams. Chris Jones hit the video board, he almost did it during a practice on Thursday, and there was a 75-yard punt return for a score. How about a holding call on the opening kickoff? Need more? There was the 53-yard kickoff return allowed at the end of the game. Cowboys special teams' units need improving.
Jay Ratliff. Jerry Jones said the starting defensive tackle won't practice this week and could miss the Week 1 game against the New York Giants. If the Cowboys keep him on the PUP, he's going to miss the first six weeks of the regular season. Cowboys officials say he's going to thrive in this scheme. Really? He hasn't practiced in it.
Nate Livings. It appears the Cowboys are about to move on from the injured veteran guard. Jones speaks of Livings in the past tense and it seems the team is willing to absorb the $2.4 million hit on the salary cap for a man who might not play for them this year. Livings will get $1.7 million regardless if he plays or not. The Cowboys' offensive line situation is fluid and they should keep him.
