As the employer, the league implements a marijuana policy or national anthem policy that players need to obey. If not, go find a job elsewhere.Exhibit A-Z of why the league shouldn't be in the business of judge/jury/executioner in the first fucking place.
Doesn't make it any less bullshit and the ruin of the league. As the employer, the league implements a marijuana policy or national anthem policy that players need to obey. If not, go find a job elsewhere.
Likewise, if the league wants to fuck over the Cowboys more so than any other team, that’s their justifiable privilege and right to do so. If Jerruh don’t like it, he can turn over the franchise
Beyond ridiculous. They aren’t even trying to hide their bias anymore.
Elliott pulls down a shirt and gets the hammer. This guy probably broke his kids arm and threatened to choke a bitch and gets not even a stern lecture.
The league is ill-equipped to draw legal conclusions as they've demonstrated over and over again. They absolutely should not ever ever be in the business of trying to decide whether an individual committed a criminal or immoral act and to what extent. They've created an obligation for themselves without the capacity, knowledge, diligence or competency to fulfill it.As the employer, the league implements a marijuana policy or national anthem policy that players need to obey. While it’s true the league creates and enforces policies and rules to govern and discipline the players conducts as employees of the league, they do not get out in front of law enforcement systems to administer the due process of a player who has allegedly broken the laws of the land. If there are criminal matters to be dealt with the league may conduct an independent investigation but to my knowledge never bring in a determination of their own that would be in conflict with the legal process. The league is ill-equipped to draw legal conclusions as they've demonstrated over and over again. As for your second paragraph, they are bound by the collective bargaining agreement. I'd assume there is some sort of objectivity or anti-bias language in there. They absolutely cannot do whatever they want.
You mean, like Elliott being proven to be innocent by the law yet still found guilty by the league? It’s amazing their reach. While it’s true the league creates and enforces policies and rules to govern and discipline the players conducts as employees of the league, they do not get out in front of law enforcement systems to administer the due process of a player who has allegedly broken the laws of the land. I'm not entirely sure what you are saying but I'm convinced it had nothing to do with what I said. While it’s true the league creates and enforces policies and rules to govern and discipline the players conducts as employees of the league, they do not get out in front of law enforcement systems to administer the due process of a player who has allegedly broken the laws of the land. Well, the CBA failed to prevent the book being thrown at Zeke. With the league laughing off Tyree Hills incident, I doubt the Union was reject that and recommend punishment to be consistent with Zeke.As for your second paragraph, they are bound by the collective bargaining agreement. Was Elliot found not guilty or did the prosecutor choose not to pursue? I can’t exactly recall but I am under the impression that the charges were dropped rather than having a trial and finding him not guilty. You mean, like Elliott being proven to be innocent by the law yet still found guilty by the league? Him not being proven guilty makes him innocent in the eyes of the law.Was Elliot found not guilty or did the prosecutor choose not to pursue? I can’t exactly recall but I am under the impression that the charges were dropped rather than having a trial and finding him not guilty.
You ever hear of the phrase innocent until proven guilty?According to this account he was never officially charged so technically he wasn't found innocent by law enforcement they dropped the charges and didn’t investigate further. So he wasn’t found innocent since there was no trial. Apparently the league decided to do their own investigation

This isn’t the point. The legal process didn't go to the point of proving anything. The point is that the NFL decided to do their own investigation and in doing so were not going against any legal proceedings because the there were none. The fact that the prosecution decided to drop the case didn’t establish guilt or innocence. It was simply hot pursued as a legal matter by the courts. It’s a legal non event, but the League pursued their investigation to a determination. Both had legal standing but one discontinued their process. You ever hear of the phrase innocent until proven guilty?
He wasn’t “proven” not guilty by the legal system. If he had been the league wouldn’t have pursued their investigation.Him not being proven guilty makes him innocent in the eyes of the law.
