IG finds Hegseth risked endangering Houthi mission with Signal use

The Pentagon pointed to the IG's conclusion that Hegseth had the authority to declassify the strike information as an exoneration.

In the chat, the IG said, Hegseth disclosed the “quantity and strike times of manned U.S. aircraft over hostile territory over an unapproved, unsecure network approximately 2 to 4 hours before the execution of those strikes.”

“Using a personal cell phone to conduct official business and send nonpublic DoD information through Signal risks potential compromise of sensitive DoD information, which could cause harm to DoD personnel and mission objectives,” the report said.

The release of the long-awaited report reignited the controversy that followed Goldberg’s initial reports on the chats, which came to be known as Signalgate.

Some lawmakers called for Hegseth’s resignation in blistering statements.

“This was a rookie mistake that could have had dire consequences for our service members who put their lives on the line for our nation every day,” said House Armed Services Committee member Rep. Sarah Elfreth, D-Md.

No one has provided a shred of evidence that they were "cocaine runners".

And if you think what Hegseth did back in March is ok, I can assure that in any of my deployments, being either peacetime or wartime ops, if I had, say, told provided the flight schedule that worked to over email or any other way to someone off the ship of even the logistics run of a cargo plane (COD) I would have gone to summary courts-martial at the bare minimum. This guy was just trying to show off and instead of acting like the head of a cabinet he portrays himself as a gumshoe with the inside information to anyone he thinks he needs to impress. Fucking goon. No wonder Trump loves him.

The first boat on Sept 2 where they went back and hit them again had eleven people onboard. ELEVEN. Does that sound like a drug running operation?

The fact that they have killed over 80 people they CLAIM are running drugs to the US in the equivalent of a fishing boat incapable of traveling more than 200 miles doesn't bother you? That was what they claimed at first. Then they floated the theory that they were running them to the Caribbean to be offloaded and sent to ISIS or the Taliban to sell to fund terrorism. Their stories keep changing and get more & more ridiculous, but some people just buy off on them no matter what.
