Did Sweeney even break 6 feet tall?

Why I can remember the Kevin Sweeney era followed shortly after by the Reggie Collier experience, I will never know.
Collier was before Sweeney. I had high hopes for him too and was hoping they would put him in earlier in that late-season skid.

IIRC, he started that season finale against the Bears in 86 and being pulled in the middle of the game. I don’t think he made it through TC the following year. White, Pelleuer and Sweeney were there in 87.

Volsky strikes again... 1985 Cowboys at Redskins

Props, these old games are great.

I just watched Septien line up for a 45 yard field goal, and the graphic said he was 2 for 7 from 40-49 yards out. I have no idea if that was normal back then but it'd be very bad now and I seem to remember Septien being thought of as a pretty good kicker.

Then (STFU) Phil Pozderac line up in the backfield (Madden said he's 6'8 295, he could have lined up both on the line and in the backfield :lol )and got the FG pushed back 5 yards.

Not only did Septien miss the FG from 50, it was short.

Man the kicking game has really really changed. I doubt a single kicker would be short from 50 nowadays.

Also, a 6'8 player nowadays for sure would be well over 300 lbs.

And by the way, it looked like it would have been good from 45, so Pozderac cost us 3 points. :angry

Who was that FA guard (a FAG?) that the Cowboys signed back about 15 years ago from Detroit... there was an article about him where they said he was 320lbs... but that's what the TEAM said, when in actuality he was like 360. He was pretty washed up by then and didn't do shit in Dallas.
