My first ever concert was Iron Maiden and Ace Frehley opened for them. I liked his first Frehley's Comet album back in the day.

Let's not beat around the bush, Ace was a legit great guitarist. Technical-wise, miles and away the best musician in KISS. Boomers and Gen X may realize it, but I don't think a lot do.

Yep. Overshadowed because Kiss (really Gene and Paul) always cared more about the gimmick but he was legit.
