I just can't bring myself to give a shit about any of this. We could be starting Joe Milton and still win this game. I'd prefer to just run with the young guys. But of course fucking not. We will trot Dak, Lamb, Pickens, Jevonte all out there. Risk injury at the end of the season that could impact next year. We will have no better idea if guys like Milton, Blue, Mafah or anyone else can play worth a shit. All in the name of making our draft pick worse and letting players increase their stats in a meaningless fashion.

True, this isn't a young team "learning how to win." There will be no "carryover" to 2026 if we win these meaningless games.

I don't advocate sitting all the starters. I don't understand that mentality at all. If anybody gets hurt and can't recover in 8 months for training camp so be it, but I'm going to guess that would be a pretty rare injury nowadays.

Yes they should be looking at and evaluating certain players like Blue and Mafah (especially to take the load off of Williams), but that doesn't mean the main guys shouldn't play at all.

Right, we literally don't have enough players to sit them all. But we do need to get selected young players some snaps.

On that topic, we should have plenty of IR candidates now to make room for a few Mafah types. Flournoy is one, maybe even Guyton. I'm still mad that some of these guys didn't have their practice window opened sooner. Mafah might not even know the plays well enough with only two weeks of practice.

The fact that they're playing Tyler Smith at LT tells me they're at least doing some tinkering with an advanced eye on next year.

Yeah I'm not advocating that. But I can also acknowledge that a legit injury to Dak or Lamb would be pretty devastating if it happened these last two weeks. And Jevonte I'm just looking to lighten the wear and tear on as RBs have a shelf life.

Exactly. He's noticeably worn down lately. If you're as serious as you say about bringing him back, why wear any more tread off the tire this year than you have to?

Does Guyton even know we play Sunday to start ?

I would hope so against Josh Johnson.

I hate to be a dick but what momentum?

We were supposed to be the team that was feared coming down the stretch.
Half the NFL rosters these days turnover in an offseason. Momentum doesn't carry over.

And do you really think beating the shit out of two awful teams makes you better next year? I appreciate he has to say this stuff. But give me a break.

Had they not laid down yesterday and were looking to close out strong, I would get it.

Just on a general note, it's absurd that we're playing on a Thursday again. Earlier in the year I thought I'd heard Christmas was on Friday or Saturday, which isn't as bad. But another three day rest this late in the year is just too hard on these guys.
