I'm not sure we can correlate the two things.

Politico getting funding from a department in the US government is abhorrent on its face.

But 8 million isn't an enormous number for a corporation in the grand scheme of things, so them having payroll issues immediately after funding gets cut might be coincidental.

It doesn't seem like they were hugely reliant on the contribution.

I started to say he has to stay because KY has a Dem governor, but then I saw that last year they passed a law that the governor can no longer appoint Senate replacements. :towel

Gavin Newsom is supposedly meeting with Trump today to ask for $250 billion to rebuild.

I’d tell that faggot to reverse every fucking law and regulation that drove insurance companies out of California and to do it before he gets a single cent.

Most of that damage should be covered by insurance, not tax dollars.

I guess it's Voter ID in California then.

Yeah it's difficult because I want to be sensitive to the people of California. But the government shouldn't be the insurance company for people. That's what insurance companies are for. I don't know the details as to why insurance companies wouldn't insure homes in California but the regulations there are to a disgusting level. To some extent the State of California and all their wealth of resources need to fucking fix themselves before I'll feel bad for the State. But again, I also know that it's not all the individuals fault. Beyond choosing to live in California it's not like they individually get to pick their dumbass government. They only get a very small one vote.

But, they do. They just keep voting for the wrong people over and over again.

Some do. But millions don't. So what do you do? Provide funding to only the Republicans or people that didn't vote a certain way? Hell California technically has a lot of red areas. You know how it goes, it's just highly concentrated blue in the most populated areas.

Anyway, I try to put myself in these people's shoes even though I'd never live in California because of government and a number of other things. Including way over priced real estate. But if suddenly tomorrow no one would insure my home and then it burned down, that's a pretty shitty situation that I had nothing to do with.

I can't watch more than a minute of this. The Cowboys provide enough self flagellation for one lifetime.

Are there Cliff's notes anywhere for this?
I'm not listening to that cackling hen at all. I wish she would just go away.

You don’t even have to watch the whole thing.

Just skip. It is so awful.

:lol

He absolutely destroyed that dude.

And I get it. My dad always hated seeing shit like that and always hated seeing immigrants talk bad about the country. He never understood it and made it a point to express it to me growing up.

It's ok to be critical of a country when things aren't going great or they decide to do things in a way that you don't agree with, but if you really hate that country so much or love another one so much more, then why are you living here?

As a first generation American of Salvadoran descent, I know what it is to both live in this country and recognize the benefits of doing so while still being proud of your heritage and having love for your country of origin.

It's even better now because of how many strides that country has made thanks to their new president who has pulled off a miracle out there.

But this is home. And this is where I want to be. And it always makes me cringe when I see ignorant ass Latinos say shit like their country is better or protest for rights on the street while waving another country's flag.

Those morons don't understand that you're never going to get ANYTHING doing things that way.

Luckily for me, I come from a family full of people with a good head on their shoulders who have never ever expressed themselves in that way and have always been grateful for the opportunities this country has given them.
