**Podcast - as we learn**

Starting this thread to serve as an all-in-one help guide as we work through podcast venture.

The formatting of this guide might change regularly, but here's what we've discovered so far.

- if you are interested in participating in any capacity, please let us know

- each participant needs a headset/mic

- leave your podcast browser window open, even after recording stops

We've tested this using a laptop mic and speakers, and the sound quality is not good.

With a headset/mic, most background noise is blocked out and the DCCer's voice is clear.

We are currently testing out Riverside.fm for production.

It records each user's audio independently on their local device.

When the host clicks the "End Record" button, he gets a screen showing the progress of each user's audio upload.

If someone closes their browser out before the upload completes, we might lose that user's audio...resulting in dead air space on the recording.

I have only done it once, so I don't really have anything at this time, but I'm sure we will learn more along the way.

I listened through all of the intro clips you sent and found a good one to test with.

I don't listen to podcasts, but it seems like it's just a bunch of people with their own radio talk show.

I don't listen to podcasts, but it seems like it's just a bunch of people with their own radio talk show.

I suppose I will remain ignorant about this for a while. I went to the link and it prompted me to download an app which I did. Then it prompted me to register which I did then two individuals came on a talked about podcasts for a while or ujntil I determined that i was on the wrong path. I did not see or hear anything that was identifiable as something booze might have done. I summarily deleted the app and determined I was going to remain ignorant unless something bloomed large enough in my mental state.
