Have I mentioned this before?

You can't win consistently when the players blocking the best pass rushers on the field both suck dick.

Possibly and that could mean they're more open to shifting him in the future, but we have to wait for Guyton to crater before that happens. As long as he's hovering around average they won't make a move, maybe just back to RT with Thomas playing LT, but nothing more than that.
First step is just putting Thomas in at RT. Steele is a dumpster fire in pass protection. Guyton is hit or miss but you see times when his pass protection looks great. Steele just always looks like a mess.

I'm kind of with Ravi. I'm skeptical Guyton is ever really going to be that good. I really fear that he's always going to be a tease -- good enough to look fine against average competition, but gets owned too often against the better rushers.

And I get putting Nate at RT, but I wonder if they aren't a little unsold on Guyton themselves. So then you might be putting a guy at RT who is really better and more comfortable at LT, and you might need him at LT eventually anyway.

It is kind of tricky. Still think Big Nate needs to be out there somewhere, though.

Guyton played RT in college more than anything else, if Thomas ends up being so good at LT it's a no brainer to try Guyton back at RT.
Maybe they can at least use this wasted year to figure this stuff out. Should be some meaningless games at the end to try some of everything.

Thomas just feels like a perfect fit at RT. Start him there. He can always swap to the left side if needed. At this point Guyton has trained purely at LT in the NFL. Seems foolish to mess with him right now. Let the guy develop and gain some consistency.

And by the way the Broncos tore up our interior too. Hoffman has been admirable but it's time for Beebe to return.

Yea I've been saying the last few weeks that Hoffman is sort of standing out as a weakness. He's an excellent backup but the longer he plays as a starter the more you see the warts.

He has worn out his two game limit or so.

It seems they are rushing Beede but they pretty much have to.

Broaddus was saying today that Beebe was ready last week and the coaches just chose not to play him.

I think Broaddus is full of it.

I have no idea honestly. But if he is practicing for a couple weeks you'd think they wouldn't do that if he was still hurt.

I'm just saying they must have thought he was still too sore, that there was a good chance he couldn't get though the entire game, etc. No way was he just fine and they just left him on the bench. We've all seen how Hoffman is getting overexposed after a several games.

I'm sure his mobility is still coming back. It's like getting your arm out of a cast. The muscle is weak, the joint hurts. It's all healed but it takes some time to sort of actually feel normal. So yeah, I'm sure he wasn't totally 100% back last week. And they probably figured the best pass rushing team in the NFL wasn't the week to test it out.

Plus I think they like Hoffman. At least to the extent they trust him.
