He's been so mediocre/bad this year, I don't know if this even hurts anything. Lee will be a better player anyway.

If we put him out there not at full speed Belichick would just attack him ruthlessly. If he's hurt it's better he sits.

If it was the Lee from 5 years ago yeah. But outside of a splash play against the Giants he's been a liability in the passing game.

A few of the local beat reporters are already saying LVE is out for Sunday.

Regardless, my sentiment is the same as most of yours. LVE's level of play has been so average this year that I really don't see this as a major loss.

Haha, what a joke to compare Belichick's brilliance and complexity with Garrett's silly "nameless, faceless opponent."
Garrett's right in one sense: It's absolutely pointless for him to try to do anything different against Belichick. You can't fix 9 years worth of predictable mediocrity in one week.

The Patriots game is the Cowboys’ last chance for a signature win

A win over New England would give the Cowboys the sort of jolt they received last season with their upset of New Orleans.

By David Moore

8:29 PM on Nov 21, 2019

FRISCO — Only one game remains over the final six weeks of the regular season that can alter the Cowboys’ trajectory.

There’s only one victory that can revise the perception of this team and build confidence and momentum within the walls of The Star.

A win over New England would give the Cowboys the sort of jolt they received last season with their upset of New Orleans. Becoming the first opponent to leave Foxboro with a victory in the last 21 games would establish Dallas the way a win over Green Bay at Lambeau Field did in the rookie seasons of Dak Prescott and Ezekiel Elliott.

Jason Garrett isn’t one to assign varying degrees of significance to regular season victories. But even the Cowboys’ head coach, for all of his robotic discipline, must concede a win over the Patriots would provide the spark his inconsistent team desperately needs.

“I just think it’s important to lock in on the task at hand every week,” Garrett said. “The best teams are able to do that.

“It’s one day of preparation for that week’s ballgame. That’s what we try to instill around here. We don’t do a lot of reflecting during the year on signature wins or this kind of a win or that kind of a win.”

Let’s hit Ctrl-Alt-Delete and move on.

This isn’t a must win. That will likely come in Week 16 when the Cowboys face Philadelphia.

The argument can be made it’s more important for the Cowboys to open December with wins over Chicago and the Los Angeles Rams since those teams reside in the same conference.

But only a win over the Patriots gives this team a chance to live up to its promise and puts the top teams in the NFC on notice entering the postseason.

If the Cowboys earn an invitation to the postseason.

All of this assumes a win over New England would be a launching pad to finish the season strong. A stirring win over the Patriots would be instantly negated if the Cowboys turned around four days later and lost at home to Buffalo on Thanksgiving.

Sunday afternoon gives Dallas the opportunity to earn a signature win.

For now, a signature loss to the New York Jets is what defines this team.

I don't care much about signature wins right now. If we win the 2nd philly game plus all the ones we "should", we'll probably be fine regardless of whether we beat new England.

If Philly beats everyone including Seattle, with the exception of us, they finish 10-6.

If we lose to new England and say, the rams, but beat everyone else including philly, we finish 10-6 and win the division by virtue of sweeping philly.

That puts us in the playoffs without a "signature " win unless you count the eagles games.

Who cares if we have a signature win? Luckily we don't really have to beat new England.

It's a shame we didn't beat the jets, we'd be in even better shape.

The biggest issue remaining isn't beating the better teams, it's beating the teams we should beat like buffalo, Chicago, and the teams in our division.

Patriots game is the Cowboys’ last chance for a signature win
This is clickbait title. This team’s history has shown they can compete with the best and lose to the worst.

You couldn’t enter last year’s playoffs with better momentum, win streak or health and we still did the same playoffs olé.

In fact, I guarantee if we beat the Patriots, we’ll lose to one of the “should win” games. Moreover, a Patriots win is the least valuable when it comes to playoff record-breaker. I’d rather lose to the Patriots than the Bears.

Buffalo has a better record than Dallas and the weather could be a mess in Chicago. Hell, with this bunch, I don't feel comfortable with any game
