Cowboys QB Tony Romo responds to NFL tweet

IRVING, Texas – Dallas Cowboys quarterback Tony Romo is new to Twitter so he’s not familiar with all of the ins and outs of the social media platform.
He was, however, aware of the tweet mentioning him by the NFL’s official account on Tuesday. The NFL tweeted a picture of Romo waving during a portion of a practice while using emoticons of the league waving back. The tweet has since been deleted.
The timing of the tweet was strange considering the back and forth that has taken place between Romo’s National Fantasy Football Foundation and the league that has been canceled because the league was concerned about its connection to a casino. The three-day convention was scheduled to be held at the Sands Expo and Convention Center.
“Yeah, someone showed me about it,” Romo said. “Obviously when someone takes it down after nine minutes, it tells you probably all you need to know.”
Romo chose not to expand on comments he made to "The Herd with Colin Cowherd" on Tuesday in which he implied money played a factor in the league’s decision to raise concerns about the locale.
“I think I don’t need to go into much more detail,” Romo said. “I’m sure all the rumors and things that are thrown out there, I’m sure the NFL and NFFC will be able to talk to each other about that stuff.”
Maybe they can mention the tweet as well.
