Well, the Astros came back to win a shitty division.

And now that they managed to sneak their way in with their least impressive season in roughly a decade, it still wouldn't surprise me if they beat any of these teams in the playoffs.

However, it also wouldn't surprise me if they lost to any of these teams in the playoffs.

My guess is that they go out in the ALCS due to their unreliable bullpen that has been shaky all year long.

The Yankees look like the team to beat in the AL and the league would absolutely love a Yankees vs Dodgers World Series, and my bet is that is exactly what they get.

There really needs to be a reemphasis on teaching kids how to pitch with accuracy and change speeds instead of throwing. Things like this are like a fuckin fairy tale these days.

The game itself isn't the same since then.

"Major League Baseball (MLB) lowered the pitching mound from 15 inches to 10 inches on December 3, 1968. The decision was made after the 1968 season, which was known as the "Year of the Pitcher", due to concerns about a lack of offense.

The change also included shrinking the strike zone to the top of the knees to the armpit. The change was effective, with offense increasing from an average of 6.84 runs per game to 8.14."

Gibson himself went up a full run per game more the very next year in 1969, and the following year in 1970 had a 3.12 ERA.

They had rules advantages up through 1968 that you can't hold against pitchers today for not being as dominant while not having those same advantages.

In other words be prepared for a Jerry All-in offseason for the Rangers.

Not that I disagree with him but as usual they better shore up that pitching staff. Don't trust Gray, Dunning, deGrom, Rocker, or Lieter.

Well Young is saying that they will pursue pitching (kind of). Targeting Eovaldi and Heaney as well as bullpen.
