TJ Watt and Myles Garrett are eligible for contract extensions. Nick Bosa is the highest paid edge rusher at $34M/averaged year.

You can argue allowing Justin Jefferson to reset the WR market upped CeeDee Lamb’s price.

How long do the Jones’ wait for Parsons?

Until further notice I assume they'll drag their heels like idiots like they always do, although I'm hopeful that it gets done sooner than later based on how vocal Parsons has been about wanting to get it done quickly and being willing to work with the organization.

40 per year minimum
If you take Parsons at his word that is the exact number that he said he didn't need when he was talking about working with Jerry and getting a contract done.

Why would he want to stay here in this dysfunctional wasteland? Especially when contenders will offer him more

What the hell are they waiting for? They’ve prepared for Micah’s contract for two years. The coaches are hired.

Best case scenario, Jones’ waiting to see what big-name FA signings are possible first before deciding how to distribute Parsons’ cap hit, which is an explanation that hits like a ton of bricks.

From December 2024

Micah Parsons - "It would be nice to be surrounded by good players. Players that will help me win championships, I'll say that. To me, having $40 million and being chipped every play and slid into three, four people, that doesn't sound too fun to me.
"So to me, it's about keeping people that can make a difference, and obviously we're going to get Sam [Williams] back, some players back. We'll see how it breaks down, but I want to keep as many guys as possible. They will make the cap work, I don't know."

For any other FAs to set the market so they can pay the maximum amount possible.

They are waiting for the suspense and drama to build like a good movie. Can't make things quick and painless for the betterment of the team.

Should we? Absofrickinglutely.

Will we? No. Even if they can absorb his contract right now, they would be afraid to have him on the roster knowing he'd need and want more money eventually.

Gotta protect that pie.

If they trade for him they'd have him under contract for two more years at a very reasonable price (relatively speaking). They could extend him with years left on the deal to spread out the impact on the cap.

Now, I wouldn't want to give up our 1st this year, but I'd be more than happy to send them our 1st next year plus maybe our 3rd this year.

I'd imagine he'd be willing to play ball on the contract too considering he has seemingly always wanted to play here.

If these idiots want to prove to fans that they're actually serious about winning something like this would be a slam dunk, so of course it'll never happen.

Yeah my biggest issue is I'm not willing to give up our first round pick in a year that I think is a building year anyway. I'd have to see far more from this team before I'm ready to throw picks away thinking he is the final piece to the puzzle or something. You may have control for 2 years, but at least one of those years is going to be eaten up by this team farting around this season.

I don't see the Browns doing it without getting a first plus more in return. And honestly the Browns should do it, there team is going to be a dumpster fire next year.

Would we be farting around if we added Garret to the defense, though?

I wanted to add Carter so I'm definitely in on this even if it's this year's.

Then this is the braintrust that thought trading a 4th for Mingo was a good idea. We would probably throw in a first next year as well.
