Why? Technically he is still under contract for a few more days? What amount of time before a contract expires makes it different?
He’s on an expiring contract no matter how many days are technically left and neither Jones or McCarthy huddled up during the season to discuss the future. To me, that pretty much closed any door about disrespecting McCarthy if they entertained interviewing another coach or for that matter McCarthy wanting to talk with other teams.

What was disrespectful was not letting the Bears interview McCarthy.

You can minimize it all you want, and it’s certainly not about pencil pushers. And if you think today’s athletes care more about running thru a wall than their social media accounts and how much their next contract is then I don’t know what to tell ya.

Schefter says plenty of discussion about what the team needs football-wise, basically nothing on a new contract.

Still stringing him along so they can low-ball him on Monday when one or two of the jobs are off the table.
I don’t think Fat Mike is nearly in demand as his agent is making out. Sure, some team like the Bears might still be impressed by what he did in Green Bay, but he has not really impressed in Dallas. His teams have been undisciplined and his game management has been incredibly poor.

Yea but there's lots of slop out there like Kingsbury being considered. If Carroll is a contender for a job or two I'm sure McCarthy could be too.

With that said, I think McCarthy wants to be back and Jerry is twisting the screws because he's a petty fuck that doesn't actually care about winning football games.

Why would McCarthy even want to coach here? He's had five years to see how futile it is to win championships here with an inbred oil family who think they are football geniuses running every aspect of the organization.

HEY....must be the money.

He is not at the top of the salary list for head coaches.

Yeah, at this point, if you take this job, you are just desperate to be an NFL HC. There's about as much chance to win a SB here as there was at any of the shit franchises throughout NFL history.
We have an owner who has gone on record about how much he wants a Super Bowl and you post this blasphemy?

Billy Bob Thornton should have been handed the best actor Emmy on the spot for keeping a serious face when Jerry was blathering about his kids and how proud he was of the Dallas Cowboys.
Yep, what a load of horseshit that was. He already had several businesses going that made him rich and that he could do with his kids... he bought the Cowboys for the glamour because he's an attention whore.
