I think he just doesnt want to take the chance of burning that bridge to get the inside scoops.
Yep. Hill asks if they don't value coaches and Glazer says "They think it's them who makes the sausage." Then talks about how the Cowboys are bigger than football and Mike did a tremendous job of insulating his team from Jerry's non-football stuff (as much as possible).

He knows Jerry is the problem, and gave the clues. He just doesn't want to directly say it.

Well, yes that's exactly right. Glazer definitely knows and he just doesn't want to come out and say it.

Uh-oh...

Riley came to Manhattan from North Dakota State where he coached the previous six seasons – including the final five tutoring the offensive line under head coach Chris Klieman – helping NDSU win five national championships during his tenure.

Each of Riley’s six years on the NDSU staff, the Bison averaged at least 235 rushing yards per game and ranked in the top 10 nationally in rushing, including a highwater mark of 286.2 yards per game in 2018 to rank seventh the nation and a 272.2-yard clip in 2017 to rank fourth. North Dakota State resided in the top 10 in time of possession in three of Riley’s five years coaching the line, including a first-place mark in 2015 (36:38). Riley’s lines also finished highly in fewest sacks allowed, ranking 10th in 2016 and eighth in 2018.

He’s a good coach. I was sorry to see him leave NDSU.

Deuce Vaughn was a terror behind his Olines. If he can make a 3'2" 112lb running back a weapon, that should tell you something.
I am more intrigued by what the learned about player fit at NDSU. They have churned out OL like nobody's business for a good bit.

Not to take anything away from this guy, because I do like the thinking behind it, but they've been tough and gritty like that ever since Old Man Snyder was there.

I'm all for this, though. Pretty happy they're going with some interesting new hires and not just the usual decades-old recycled pro coaches.

Woke OL coach!

1. Look at the timing - 4 years ago at the height of the BLM stuff. A lot of people were publicly saying things that were meant to be received in a way that would be as broadly palatable as possible. I'm not saying he believes what he was saying or not, just that he almost had to talk like this at the time.

2. I don't care - at all - what someone's personal feelings are politically or socially, as long as they don't think they are some sort of activist about it. If the person helps us win, that's what I care about. I'd root for Stalin if he helped us win a super bowl.

Much more variety in Kstate's runs.
This is a huge plus in his favor. While at NDSU, he was not married to a single style. Wasn't insistent on hammering square pegs into round holes. When the Bison had more power type RBs, you saw more of a smashmouth style running game. When he was given the speedier, shiftier guys you saw more read and react, stretch type plays. He's a guy that can be fluid and use guys to their strengths instead of stubbornly forcing them to operate within the confines of his system.

It's how guys like Deuce Vaughn can be successful. If you line him up and expect him to be Earl Campbell, it's going to end badly for you. He doesn't do that. I think he'd be a good hire. And show that we just might be taking this running game thing seriously this time.

Not only is Solari gone (God bless) but they're actually leaning into having a more varied run game. We've been inordinately zone heavy basically ever since Callahan was the OL coach.

Callahan makes it work because he's one of the best OL coaches in recent memory, but the stale run game concepts has been one of my main complaints for the last 5-7 years or so.

It improved a bit the last few years since Moore left but not enough, but I'm certain the OL scheme next year will be something we haven't seen around here in a long time.
