It’s excellent. It’s not so much air frying as it is infra red cooking, at it comes out very juicy in about 3 hours for a 15lb bird, (max I think is 16-17 before it gets difficult to get it in/out of the basket.
I started doing ours that way about 8 years ago and everyone loves it. Check out the YouTube videos on it. You won’t be disappointed.
I assume it doesn't use that much propane to cook it that slowly?

I'll definitely check it out. I saw our Academy sports has one for $99. I think every year on this day about how much I love fried turkey and why don't I do it all the time, but the oil is a pain. So this might be worth it to me.

Not trying to shit on Irv, but if you're looking for that crunchy skin you get with deep-fried turkey, you will not be happy with the Big Easy.

Yeah, that is hard to beat and a big part of why it's so great. I probably just need to drag out the fryer and oil more often. (But I'll still watch some vids on his Big Easy thing.)

I've been smoking turkey the last few years, but I do miss that crunchy fried skin.

Need to figure out a way to do a quick fry after the smoke, but like you said...the cost of the oil for one cook is a bitch.

You have to put the cover on for the dial 30-45 minutes. I’ve lacked for crispy skin.

You get about 10 hours or a little more out of a 15lb bottle of propane. At a cook rate of 10min/lb, you can do probably 3-4 birds per bottle.

I bought one when they first came out and used it twice.

Then I went back to a regular fryer.
Yeah, I've tried this before too. My brother bought one 5-6 years ago. The one and only time we tried that shit.

No thank you. I will say it was better than oven baked turkey. Marginally. But doesn't even come close to deep fried or smoked.

We gave it a test run and made a turkey in it a few weeks before Thanksgiving, so thankfully turkey day wasn't ruined.
