We aren't losing this week for what it's worth, but that doesn't change a damn thing.

The way this all ends is inevitable, in the meantime it's just shuffling deck chairs.

I think tomorrow night will be one of those stupid "Rally the troops, circle the wagon" games we win. Just enough to get our knucklehead fan base back in We Dem' Boy's mode

Agreed. We tend to respond when our backs are against the wall, and the Giants are hardly elite. Then we as a fanbase will start feeling good about them again until the next disaster.

It won't happen yet, maybe in 4-6 weeks once the rot really sets in.

I went into the season feeling like this is a double digit wins team again.

But the past two weeks reek of the way last season ended in the playoffs.

I don't know. But this just feels like a team that is ready to go belly up.

If we somehow manage to lose this game it could start now.

But I think you're probably right.
Oh if we lose this game that's it for the season, we're going to spiral, end up like 7-10, and McCarthy might actually get fired mid-season as opposed to just quietly letting him walk like they did with Garrett at the end of the year.

I just don't think they're going to lose this one and that they'll likely spend most of the floating around .500.

I agree, I felt that way before the season since I knew all it would take was a bit of adversity for the players to start tuning out a coach who will undoubtedly be gone in about 3-4 months.

I just don't think it'll be this week.

If McCarthy can squeeze 11 wins out of this team it'll be an extremely impressive coaching job to me, even though he'll almost certainly be gone afterwards.

Another random thought, this team is starting to remind me a lot of the 2019 team in terms of being way more talented than the results due to a toxic culture/well poisoning situation, with a few inexplicable performances along the way.

I don't think it's a coincidence that both teams had lame duck coaches with 1 year left on their deals with an air of inevitability around them being gone after the year.

This is exactly right. When you have a coaching staff under 1 year deals, and these players? They aren't fighting serious adversity. They are just looking for a chance to give up and enjoy their money.

We will either start rolling and be another 10+ win team, or if we continue what we did the last two weeks guys will turn quickly. They already play selfish football. Just wait until they turn on each other.

The sad thing is even if we roll the Giants it doesn't mean anything. We have been doing that for years. It's not like it gets us anywhere. Sure I want to win and beat the crap out of them. But all it really means is we have a W on the schedule. Same old song and dance until we beat some teams that play physical.
