No, the optimum life under a socialistic system is a few people control all the money and power, and everyone else is just shit out of luck.
:unsure That's exactly the system we have now.

Listen this whole socialist BS stems from an uninformed populace/fear mongering by the GOP and Bernie/AOC stating they are a socialist and Millennials jumping on board.

A socialist country (truly socialist) would take over means of production (all business and manufacturing would be Nationally owned). Bernie has been pretty specific that isn't what he is advocating for, and no one on the Democratic stage has either. Having government Medicare for all is a socialist program, but a program that would be started because the country and their represented voted for it. In that way we are deciding how our tax dollars are being used, tax cuts and breaks for the wealthy, expanding the largest Military budget in the world, or health care for everyone. It would be our choice.

However, I am not blaming the populism and the fear that creates on just the GOP, the Democrats have to own that too, because of Bernie and AOC specifically.

Here are my thoughts so far, as one of the only Democrats here.
  • Beto is a fucknut. The whole plan to go door to door to remove guns is asinine, and would't be Constitutional.
  • Although I like the idea of Socialized Medicine, I am not entirely sure that would be Constitutional.
  • Free public college for everyone is also pie in the sky.
    • I'd rather they subsidize tuition to lower the costs
    • Concentrate on Trade schools,
    • Get the government out of the predatory college loan business
    • Change the rules to allow young people to refinance those loans
  • The problem with the entire lot of them is they feel like they are pandering, (except Bernie even if I don't agree with everything he says)
    • Some are Pandering to moderates/never Trumpers/independents
    • Others are pandering to left
    • Be true to yourself and be consistent.
  • I liked Harris for a minute, I thought she was Authentic after the first debate, just to watch her reverse everything she said the next morning.
  • Their ideas on immigration for the most part (all of them) are just out there. I mean, come on, you are giving it to Trump.

I think you are confusing socialism with communism at the top.

Yes there is a small population of people that are extremely wealthy, but the difference between what we have today and what we would have if people like Bernie or Pocahontas took control is we have a true middle class of people in between. The socialist programs the far left wants to enact would eventually eliminate the middle class through income redistribution, and instead massively increase the % of people who rely on government support.

I am not rich or anywhere close to it, however the difference between me and someone like the typical Bernie, Warren, Obama supporter is I don't RESENT rich people. We need them to support the economy by creating jobs and opportunities for others, by spending their money on dinners out, giant TV's and new cars. The extreme left wants their supporters to hate these people and somehow think they are "evil". It doesn't bother me that someone got extremely rich off an idea. Good for them and ultimately, good for the country.

When I said "a few people would have all the money and control" that is NOT what we have today. Today, many extremely rich people have nothing to do with politics, the contrast is people that are true leftists want all the money and control in their hands, not in the hands of anyone else.

No, I am not.

Socialism
a political and economic theory of social organization which advocates that the means of production, distribution, and exchange should be owned or regulated by the community as a whole.

Communism
political theory derived from Karl Marx, advocating class war and leading to a society in which all property is publicly owned and each person works and is paid according to their abilities and needs.

We absolutely have a few people that hold all the power and wealth in our country, and to suggest otherwise, isn't being honest. Also to think those extremely rich have nothing to do with politics, is naive.

Don't pay attention to the big news channels, but has anyone pushed back against Hilary's claim that Gabbard is a Russian asset? I'm sure they haven't.

How ridiculous. Now anyone you don't like and/or want to ruin, you just claim they're working for the Russians. No evidence needed.
No, mainstream media is essentially ignoring it, as they do all Clinton scandals and untruths

To be fair, Mr Krakauer, Trump may have had just as much reason to have Epstein killed as the Clintons. Beyond that, I don't believe either conspiracy theories, if either the Clintons or the Trumps were killing people with dirt on them, there would be a lot more dead bodies.

:lol you're a conspiracy theorist? I bet you think that Clinton was a part of Pizza Shop Pedophilia ring and Bush took down the twin towers. :lol

For starters 1 would be good? You really think the number of times the Clintons or even Trump have been investigated, that they wouldn't have been charged by now?

Actually I was just joking.... Mostly.

Not a conspiracy theorist, no. But there are a lot of suspicious deaths associated with the Clintons.

It's a ridiculous number.

There's definitely something to it. Too many people that have some how crossed the Clintons end up dead by mysterious causes.
