I don't care about the money, I only care about the extent to which they attempt to find his successor over the next 2-3 years, barring him actually getting us to the NFCC or beyond of course.
Right. Is there a no-trade? I haven't heard that yet.

An ex-first rounder from this past draft and you’ll like it

Dak just told the world he's content with being a loser. If he had any faith in his abilities, he would've waited for free agency.
Disagree. Why should he wait? He just got the richest contract in history. Why risk injury before signing something like that?

You see guys all the time wanting the contract now, the stability of the signed contract. Especially with how so much of them are guaranteed now. Guys are always mentioning the piece of mind knowing they're covered for injury.

If Jimmy is suggesting that there are other factors contributing to his and the Cowboys failures, he would be absolutely right as we all know what the culture is that the Jones's have created and how it works against the team's chances to succeed.

But the notion that he hasn't had enough talent around him? That is absolute nonsense.
It's a very NBA type of thinking that "The front office hasn't done enough for him!!!1!"

One, he has had tons of talent around him, from Dez and Witten and Zeke and the best OL in the league to now guys like CeeDee.

And two, whatever happened to the highest-paid QB in the league elevating those around him? If he's worth paying that much he shouldn't need a team of All-Pros at every position.

That I don't agree with.

As I've said before, this generation of athletes don't live and die for the sport.

They just want money and to draw attention themselves or their brand.

There's no way anyone in their right mind is going to turn down that money.

And furthermore, Dak knows exactly who he is. No matter what he says in front of a camera, he knows damn well that he doesn't deal with pressure well. Why would he risk proving anything in crunch time for a potential bigger contract from another team when he can already get the humongous record-breaking deal that he has sitting in front of him now?

No one is going to do that.

And this right here is the #1 reason why he doesn't deserve anywhere near the amount of money he's getting -- those who get paid like that are capable of doing more with less and getting guys to play above their ability.

Hell, even Romo did that much!

This guy has proven multiple times over that he can't do shit unless the conditions around him are optimal.

What a joke.

This is revisionist history. Have we had talent? Sure. But each and every season we are complaining right here about how this team can't win because our corners suck. Or how we can't stop the run. Or how our linebackers suck. Or how we can't run the ball. Or how our coaches suck. Or how we have no pass rush. Or how thin we are at WR. Etc... Sure, some seasons some of these aren't as glaring as others, but it's been pretty rare when we can say we had a complete, superbowl caliber team. If only we had a QB...

Exactly. I laugh when people say things like, "Dak should leave for a better team."

Dak is max winning right now. This is two contracts at the very top of the league. Like Jerry, he's winning where it matters, at the bank.

Right. He's content playing for a team that doesn't care if he performs in crunch time. It's his "safe space." Why Jerry is rewarding this mentality is anyone's guess.

Jerry admitted in that SAS interview that he didn't take as many risks now as when he was younger.

Jerry gave in because he's terrified of another Quincy-Hutch period, even if that means we have little chance of a Superbowl.

That's an easy question to answer.

It's because it's right up Jerry's alley. We don't need to win Super Bowls, we just need to be good enough to be relevant and financially viable.

That's exactly what Dak brings to the table -- the chance to continue to be good and relevant but with no guarantee to make it further than that, but that hasn't been a priority for the organization for over 20 years so why would it change now?
