Charleston gunman’s sister did about the most narcissistic thing she could
By Chris PerezJuly 2, 2015 | 1:38pm

Her brother slaughtered nine worshippers at a Charleston, SC, church — yet Dylann Roof’s sister thinks she’s the victim.

Amber Roof launched an online funding campaign to solicit donations not for the families of the slain — but to make up the money she lost when the massacre forced her to reschedule her wedding.
“It was going to be the PERFECT day!” Roof, 27, wrote on her page on the fund-raising Web site GoFundMe.
“As many of you know Michael and I had to abruptly cancel our wedding day, due to the tragedy that occurred in Charleston,” she lamented on the page, referring to her fiancé, Michael Tyo, an Army Reserve recruiter.
“We would like the chance to start our lives on a positive [sic] note. Therefore, we have decided to start a Go Fund Me account. We know money cannot replace the wedding we lost and our perfect day, however it will help us to create new memories and a new start with our family.”

Dylann Roof went on his shooting spree at the Emanuel African Methodist Episcopal Church on June 17, four days before his sister’s scheduled wedding date.

“It is the day every girl dreams of,” Amber Roof wrote on the page. “It was the day we dreamed of. We had each other, we have the perfect venue, and we had our vows ready to be read. We were ready! We had planned out every detail for months and months.”

She went on, “The Charleston Massacre took place and our lives were forever changed.

“Our wedding day was suppose [sic] to be the most important and special day of our lives . . . Our day was the exact opposite. Our wedding day was full of sorrow, pain, and shame, tainted by the actions of one man.”
She wrote that the funds raised would be used “to pay bills and to send us on our dream honeymoon” — while just 10 percent would go to the church.

Over four days, 36 people contributed $1,619 toward her $5,000 goal. But the page was taken down Thursday amid outrage.

One commenter, responding to a Facebook news report about the page, wrote: “What in the hell is she thinking? Your brother just killed 9 ppl and you want ppl to pay for you wedding!! Wooooow!!”
Roof, who contacted police after spotting her brother in surveillance footage released after the shooting, also blasted the press.

“The media abused our privacy and published all of our wedding information and destroyed our dream day,” she wrote. “Destroying the first day of Michael and my life together.”

In her very limited defense, she seems to have reported on her brother to the police. That might have assisted in his capture.
