Well, Jerry.... If you wanted the team to consistently be ready to play and get coached up, then maybe you'd foster a culture within the organization that would allow for such a thing to occur.

"I'm surprised my average HC, who's never been a HC before, that I hired so I could control maintain control of all football matters, is putting together disappointing results".

Fuck you, Jerry.
Still doesn't think HC's are important I guess. Not sure what he really thinks is important beyond himself and media attention.

I agree, I'm not worried about the offense. Here is an idea, take your second year OTs and develop them? Take your rookie OT and develop him? It was a bad game but I'm not going to overreact to what hasn't been a problem most of the year.

Keep Pickens, your have Flournoy looking good as your third option. Develop the young offensive line and just keep rolling.

The defense, needs a new coordinator first of all. But safeties, LBers and pass rushers. We need them all. I'll leave corner off for now but that very well may be a need to. Bland hasn't been good.

Yep. We'd be insane to not take defensive players early. We've spent enough firsts on OL. That's not the only way to find them.

We're not running the ball enough down there.

It seems he's trying to get tricky every time we get down there and he does it so often it's not fooling anyone now.
Not having a reliable 2nd RB is probably a big part of that, although Davis might be halfway passable.

But what if we cut Steele?
Then God's love will truly shine upon us.

Are you really willing to roll the dice next year on Guyton, Thomas and Cornelius at OT?
Yes. I honestly don't think it would be any worse than this year.

But of course if it's me I'd sign a solid OT FA. Maybe there's a Cardinal that will shake loose that Clayton can work with.

And if it's me, there's zero chance, and I mean zero, that I'd ignore the defense in the state that it's in so that we can shoehorn yet another 1st rounder on the OL.

But what if we sign someone like Quincy Williams and the clear BPA at one of our picks is an OT?

Obviously you have to go defense with one of the two picks, or most of the picks if we trade down, but I could see a scenario where we should go OT with one of the two 1's.

And I'm saying this as someone who absolutely does not want to spend another 1 on an OL.

Agree, I've posted a zillion times that I hate using so many #1s on the OL, but if it works out where you have a clear stud type LT there, I wouldn't hate it. But you better be sure he's going to be damn good and not another guy who needs two years of development like Guyton.

And that said... we're all pissed this morning after that shitshow of a game, but maybe Guyton and Thomas play really well the rest of the year. It's very possible. They're both too young to totally discard yet.

Yea we'll see how the last few games go, one of the things I'll point out is that most of the top OT prospects this year are guys who played RT primarily (Fano and Mauigoa).

Lomu might be the best LT although I think he might've played both.

I wouldn't do it for any RT but a LT sure. Its that important. Im not high on Guyton but thats just me.

In a normal world the defense would get some FA attention. They changed their view on the DT position so let's hope it continues.

Just go BPA in the draft. If that is a LT so be it.

And "they" are fucking idiots because I'm available. Do "they" want to sign me to play LT for their team?

You know who else is always available? Terrence Steele -- and I can't wait till we send that asshole packing.

That's such a stupid phrase and I'm surprised something that dumb caught on.
You can rail against it all you like but all that talent doesnt do you any good if its on the IL.

It also doesnt mean just settle for less talent.

but he scores the occasional TD, so ...

He gives you ZERO after the catch.

Just nothing.

He can move the chains a bit and has become a solid option in the post which is why he's been effective in the redzone.

But I wouldn't go so far as to call him a weapon.

He's down the list of areas that require an immediate upgrade, but we honestly should take an opportunity to improve at TE should the opportunity present itself.

Maybe it's better if we kinda suck the rest of this year, evaluate some young players, make sure we retain Adams, and get better draft picks.

Yes, this is the bargaining stage.

But really, not sure being in a stronger position for next year isn't better than slipping into the 7th seed and getting worked in the first round again.
