Maybe he is physically better. On one of his radio shows even a month or so into the season, he said his back still wasn't right from that time Murray hit him in training camp, if anyone remembers that.
Could be, he seemed to be protecting himself from the hits earlier in the year. But against Philly he looked aggressive running the ball again. Reminded me more of the Ferg we saw earlier in his career where he just didn't want to go down.
Cooper was more streaky. But goddammit he was a hell of a route runner. Bigger receiver but played way different than Pickens. Pickens is physically imposing. Cooper was good sized but he beat you with his route running and speed. Pickens is just physically a monster with his size and arm length.
I vaguely remember something like that but there's so many variables to that (Dak's play, etc.) that I wouldn't make that a defining point of comparison.
Same, if for no other reason than he fits better with Lamb, but I do think what Pickens is doing this year is more impressive than anything we saw out of Cooper.

I have to believe that is one of my favorite all time Cowboy games. At least its one that has stuck in my head and I tend to rewatch the highlights on Youtube ever so often. Goodnight Irene. The lead changes. Beating that POS Rothisberger after he does the fake spike. Zeke can run the ball. We can execute a screen pass. Just so much fun in that game and I was a bundle of emotions.
Yea no QB can do anything with a defense playing like it was the first half of the year, in 2020, in the Packers playoff game, etc., even though Dak was plenty to blame himself during those games/stretches either.
