I don't think he has a maturity problem.

The guy hasn't caused any issues or been problematic in any way the entire time he's been a Cowboy.

Now, are the optics there great? No.

But this is what happens when you catch a guy in the heat of the moment when he's heated and frustrated. There's obviously a lot of that frustration aimed at himself as well, and he made no excuses after the first Philly game.

CD is not a problem nor is he going to become one. He just needs to get a handle on the drops which have honestly not been a problem for him outside of the two Philly games this year.
Yep, I think he is just putting too much pressure on himself right now. Sometimes you just have to relax and play football. Catching the ball is second nature for guys like this. But when they start thinking about it, it can get in their head. This too shall pass. Lamb is going to drop a ball here or there. But games like yesterday just aren't the normal for him. It was like the first Philly game all over for him. Except this time Pickens and Dak are like a well oiled machine. And the defense was just better.

I don't think Lamb is a character problem but I do think he lacks mental toughness and can spiral when things start going poorly.

You saw it in the Green Bay playoff game two years ago and you saw it last night where he's almost sheepish about the drops and starts acting kind of like a kid.

Pickens on the other hand seems like a psychopath and just keeps going after it regardless of what's happening.

Rich Eisen said this morning that George Pickens is turning CeeDee Lamb into his own personal Alvin Harper. I don't think I'd go that far.

Yeah, that's a dumb take. CeeDee has been The Man here where Harper never was.

And as they said on the postgame last night, you can't say it's all the QB, because CeeDee produced big with Cooper Rush.

The Philly pass rush ate the Lions alive. Their QB was punch drunk by the end of the game.

Yesterday? I thought the Philly rush looked like shit. Their best rush was a LBer going one on one with our RB. I'm actually scratching my head wondering how in the hell the Lions couldn't handle those pass rushers.

Pickens is just elite elite. We are seeing more out of Pickens than we ever saw before. And that absolutely I think is because of the team and QBs he was playing with. As a defensive coordinator I'm not sure how you stop him. He is just so big, athletic and talented with the ball in his hands.

Probably not "all" the problems but a lot of it is personnel yes.

I'm still torn on schottenheimer. I do think he makes a lot of game day mistakes but on the other hand there's a lot to be said for a HC who gets the team playing hard every week and keeps them focused and resilient enough to come back from 21. Some previous coaches around here very rarely had come back wins from any deficit let alone 21.

I'm still in wait and see mode.
I agree with this. He definitely has the team playing hard, but I’m concerned about the dumb penalties and the questionable play calling in the Red Zone. We’ve got a good RB, maybe 2…Philly wasn’t stopping them for the most part. Use them when you are at the damn 1 yard line.

I can't believe I'm saying this, but how is Seat Belt? He left the field and never came back yesterday. He's actually been decent the last few games.

Philly had 192 yards on their first 3 drives through ~4 or 5 minutes of the 2nd quarter. They had 148 for the rest of the game. And only 63 yards rushing for the whole game.

I thought our OL did a really good job and a lot of it was due to some of the creative stuff we saw them starting to do with the Raiders where there's almost a kick out block in pass protection with a OG rolling out to pick up a DE after they a chip from a TE or something of the sort.

I can't remember the number of times I've watched an NFL game and seen a struggling offense kept in a game by the defense stepping up and wondered what the hell that would feel like. It was nice for once to see the defense basically step up and give the offense a chance to get back into a game. It feels like our defense never does that. Even with Quinn the defense was always best when the offense got a lead and the other team couldn't stick with the run.

I love watching that during a game. It's got to be miserable as a DE to beat your guy, or at least think you beat your guy and then suddenly Tyler Smith comes around and destroys you. It's really fun to see that Guard pull and destroy a dude with the pass block.

It's what happens when you hire a nepo baby instead of conducting a real search. He said he went for it late in the 4th because he wanted to "put Philly away." How does a 7-pt lead with 3:46 left do that?
Going for it in a situation like that has become the norm across the league. Can't really fault Schott on that, although I do agree that going for it on 4th has gone overboard. I get to watch the Lions every week and Dan Campbell is particularly a bad offender when it comes to that despite being otherwise a very good coach.

Schott has exceeded my expectations as a head coach. He is at least a lateral move from McCarthy. Much better than Kellen Moore would have been IMO and far better than Garrett.
