Yeah I just don't think he would say it and then turn around and do the opposite. This isn't some ambiguous statement that "we are going all in" where it's open for interpretation. Saying you can keep all 3 guys is exactly what it is. Now who knows, Jerry may spin it later and claim he said that he "could" keep all 3 guys but decided it was better to spend the money on Pickens or some bullshit.

I fully believe we will franchise him if necessary. I'm worried that it could get really messy doing that and it ends up with him being traded. Which is unfortunate if it happens for both sides. Because I think Pickens could be special in Dallas. And he may end up with a team like the Steelers where his career is wasted. And obviously for Dallas he has come through in the clutch this year so many times. You take Pickens away and we have no shot at the playoffs this year.

The only reason Parsons got traded is because it became extremely personal and toxic, unless Pickens goes scorched Earth like that he isn't going anywhere.

I agree. We will at least have one more year of Pickens needing to perform for a top contract before things get nasty. It might be easier after that when they let Clark walk and use his money for part of the Pickens contract

Or just get Clark to take a pay cut given he has no dead money left in 2027. Given his age I bet they could get him to go down to like 10-12/year.

I also subscribe to the fact that he is going to keep all 3 DTs because they justify and make the Parsons trade look better.

Pickens is sort of the same thing but that's more about a contract and those can go south as we saw with Parsons. But that's kind of rare for Jerry. Not sure he will want the look of Super Agent winning against him again.
