We'll win a few more and end up picking at 20. Then we'll take the 4th rated corner.

I don't think there is a significant difference in terms of the group we're looking at whether we're at 7 or 11-12ish.

The main thing is at 7 you might have an outside chance at Hunter or Carter dropping to you, whereas that's gone at 11-12. I think Graham would almost certainly be there at 7 but I think there's still a decent chance he'll drop to 11-12, maybe somewhere around 40%.

But aside from that you're basically looking at the same group of players whether you're at 7 or 12:

Ashton Jeanty
James Pearce Jr.
Jalon Walker
Derrick Harmon
Mykel Williams
Tetaiora McMillan
Malaki Starks
Nic Scourton

I think all of those guys are on a similar tier as prospects, you'd just be picking from a more limited list at 12 than at 7.

One random thought I had about dropping a bit is that it likely takes Will Johnson off the table, and I wouldn't put it past these fools to pick him at 6 or something if they had the chance because he's the "highest ranked player on their board", "flashing red light" or some other such nonsense.

This is exactly what concerns me. Win a few meaningless games in a lost season, drop six to eight draft spots, and in comes Jerry to blow the whole thing to shit.

The absolute lowest we'll pick is 18 unless we make the playoffs, so in all likelihood our floor should be about 15, and even there I think we'd get more or less the same caliber of player we could get at 7ish given how this class is.

Obviously barring something like Carter or Hunter falling to 7 which seems unlikely.

Random thought, but Luther Burden doesn't even lead his own team in receiving yards, and it's not because he has a teammate who is having a huge year.

Anybody bringing this guy up as a possibility in the top 10-15 can fuck right off.

60/665/6 over 11 games is very underwhelming.

The one Mizzou game I saw he made one decent (not spectacular, just pretty good) catch near the end. Until then he didn't even show up.

I don't think their QB is any good, but still, a top player should be more noticeable than that. Especially at WR.

Yeah even last year his YPC was underwhelming.

Jeanty with another 200 and 6+ YPC, he's probably going to finish the year somewhere between 2nd and 4th all time on the single season rushing list.
