At least the mocks are starting to make sense at the top. Silly how long it took Carter or Ward up there.

Anyway, fwiw, I noticed when Eberflus was asked about who we already had on defense, he went right to the corners and then safeties. Other than Micah of course, nothing to really say about our front seven other than Osa praise when asked later about his contract.

He said you need at least two if not three premium players on the DL, at least that's how I heard it.

I could easily see them loving Nolen since he really is the prototypical Tampa 2 3T, I just hope they try to trade down first while also looking at the other DT's if they're that interested. I also think drafting a guy like Nolen has to be in addition to resigning Osa or signing a few other starter type DL while letting Osa walk.

It can't just be let Osa walk, the same old, same old in FA, and hope Nolen is a 1:1 replacement.

No. You dont.
I don't hate it. But

I mean I'm good with the first 3 picks but the rest goes off the rails for me. And Sampson wouldn't be my top choice at RB in the third. But I can see why some love him. I just have a few guys higher I think will be available.

I don't care for Egbuka but hard to say without seeing who he had to choose from. I just know that there are better drafts so when you say "I win" it better be really good.

I very much like Egbuka. So that may be why I'm ok. I also don't want to use another day 2 pick on a LBer but Campbell is probably too good to pass up at that point. And honestly it's not a great LBer draft after him.

That would be a heck of a class because Campbell would be a huge steal in the 2nd.

Egbuka at 12 would be a reach and Sampson in the 3rd would be solid, but Campbell is the steal that makes it.

Egbuka at 12 is pretty meh overall, much like Nolen I like him as a prospect but I don't think there's much value in taking him at 12. Even if you get less than average value (i.e. a 3rd) to move down 6-8 slots, I'd much rather do that and still nab Egbuka or Golden than to simply straight up take one at 12.

I also like Brooks a lot on day 3.

As an aside, the only guys that I think really truly warrant sitting at 12 and making a pick are Jeanty, McMillan, Will Johnson, Warren and maybe Mike Green or Jalon Walker (depending on how the staff views him).

Aside from that if we're getting into the Nolens, Egbukas, and Goldens of the world, you need to trade down.

I think Harmon would be solid at 12 too but I'd rather have Grant or Nolen plus a 3rd than Harmon straight up, even though I do really love Harmon as a prospect.

Yeah it's personal preference. I probably think more of Egbuka then the general consensus. To me he is the clear cut #2 WR in this draft. The guy has been killing it at Ohio State since his sophomore season. I think his biggest problem is he has been a top guy so long that he has sort of been picked apart. But his only real weakness is probably just that he isn't a speed demon. Don't get me wrong, I think he is fast on the field, but he isn't a 4.3 burner. It's funny coming into this year the guy was pegged as a top 10 type talent. All he did was go out and have a dominant season and win a National Championship. And somehow he has moved into a middle to late first round guy. I don't buy it.

But you give me a second/third to move down and settle for Golden and I'd probably be good with that too. That's similar to Harmon. I think the guy is being underrated. He is big, he is powerful and he provides a pass rush. 6'5" 310 pounds and 5 sacks but he also had a top pressure rate in college football. I think he is criminally getting pegged as a NT and I don't think that's the case. I think he is another one of these impact dudes you could put anywhere on the D-line and he is going to make plays.

Grant is raw to me, Nolen is inconsistent and I'd rather have Harmon by a decent margin over both guys. But I know that my opinion isn't the same as the consensus on them.

Now you talk Warren, Green, Walker or Will Johnson and I'd take the third round pick to move down. Undersized DE's, injured down year corner who lacks elite speed and a TE, they don't excite me. There are also a shit load of DE's in this draft that can rush the passer. There are a lot of really good TE's (I'm not even worried about that position in this draft) and zone corners are always plentiful.

So yeah, I'd rather take Egbuka or Harmon at 12 than Green, Warren, Walker or Johnson. Just my opinion. Of course it's a fun year at DT too later in the draft. TJ Sanders, Peebles and Darius Alexander to name a few options at 3 tech. And this is a loaded class for NT's.

Yeah, I hate drafting for need but we have to get a DT in the first three rounds. I'd really say in the first two.

Waaaaay more than a run stuffing DE. Hell Kneeland is that with hopes for more.

There are probably 10 DTs in this draft I'd take before Sawyer. Hell probably 10 DEs too.

I mean, if we traded down four or five spots first, I don't think I'd hate it. Hampton looks damn good to me.

But then if a guy like Harmon is there, I'd still probably prefer that and get a back the next round.

I don't think it's totally crazy though... not at 12, but at 15-18 or so.

He would be a backup option to me if we traded down to like 20 and I kind of get wiped out. But otherwise I'll just wait on RB. Kiper having us take Hampton just screams desperation.

Great player, I like him. I'm not going to rip the guy apart. But there are other backs in this draft that are great too.

he’s Rodney Hampton 2025. Never met a bone crunching hit he never liked. Going to be done by year three in the NFC East

Yeah, I was kind of warming up to taking a back in the 1st but now I'm against it. I wouldn't address it until the 2nd or later. I'm more interested in building lines.
