Come on, though. We lost by almost five touchdowns. "Playcalling" wasn't the problem yesterday.

I don't even mind their taking a shot in a game where it was going to take a miracle to win anyway. The only problem I have there is throwing it to useless Mingo.

Mingo may be useless but he wasn't on that play. Rush just can't throw the deep ball well.

And as much as I fucking hate the Eagles, the loss is better for this team when the season ends. I think there is a big difference in potential draft position between 11-12 and 15+. In this draft you still have first round grades at 11-12. If we had beaten the Eagles and then beat the Skins, we are suddenly picking guys with second round grades.

Yea, I was a little worried about us winning both of the last two. I never really thought we'd beat the Eagles coming off a loss without Lamb, even with Pickett, but I think the Skins are a 50/50 tossup and if we had somehow found a way to win against the Eagles it would've been a bit worrying.

9-8 would've had us somewhere around 16-18 most likely instead of 11-15, and with our SoS I could've easily seen us with the lowest pick (18) of all the non-playoff teams which would've sucked.

I don't really care where we fall between about 11-15 though.

I expect a decent pro WR to at least find that ball and make an attempt for it. He waited way too long to even look for it, then didn't find it at all.

Rarely have I seen a pro player who so obviously looks like he doesn't care that much.

He was running a deep fly with the defenders trailing by two steps. He was wide open. If Rush throws that ball accurately, it's a TD. That deep ball was so far out of bounds to his left there was nothing that he or any other WR in the history of the NFL could have done. It was out of bounds. How in the hell do you adjust to that and make an attempt? This just looks like you are trying to find something to complain about that just isn't there. Certainly not on that play.

Ball thrown over the wrong shoulder, sure. Ball underthrown sure. But ball both badly underthrown and to the wrong shoulder? That's just a pathetic ball. Not even Lamb is making that catch.

There is a lot to complain about with Mingo. But in this one instance, he ran a great route, burned 2 defenders and got screwed by the QB. In no way does one play change my opinion on Mingo which is that it was a thrown away draft pick. But I'm not going to use this play as an example.

Exactly. Was just coming back to add that to my post then saw you'd already edited it into yours.

He sounds like an idiot but the defense was pretty solid overall in my opinion. Booth pretty much singlehandedly blew up the game, aside from the plays he gave up you really only have the Calcaterra and Brown catches plus a few Barkley runs once the game was already over.

I just went and re-watched it. Not only was it not "so far out of bounds", but the ball landed in bounds by about a yard. It actually bounced about five or six feet from Mingo's foot.

Plus, you had Olsen saying it wasn't a badly thrown ball. He also said that ball is supposed to be thrown outside. Of course it wasn't perfect, but Rush isn't the greatest either, we already know that.

Maybe I'm thinking of a different throw. Because I distinctly remember a deep throw that was far out of bounds on a deep throw.

Either way, you said it yourself. The ball landed 5 or 6 feet from his foot. Not overthrown, with the WR moving towards the landing spot. But AWAY from the spot. So Olsen must have been high if he thought that wasn't a badly thrown ball.

That was a missed throw from Rush. Period.

Well since you said "Period" I guess that settles it.

And I never said it was a great throw. But an NFL WR should at least try to adjust. You don't just run a route 30 yards down the field and if the ball doesn't hit you in the hands say fuck it, bad throw.

I would like it very much if the Lions squash the Niners.
Feh. I think I'd rather the Lions lose.

They've been getting a bit uppity. Knock their pompous asses down a peg, and drop the niners down in the draft a couple spots as an added bonus.
