Yeah, maybe I shouldn't have used that word. I just meant an all around badass MFer.

The only negative I can think of is maybe the scouts got hung up on him not looking that great? I mean he's one of those guys who looks almost soft, doesn't have the bodybuilder type muscles, etc. But this ain't bodybuilding and that doesn't mean anything.
He has really short arms, which I've seen get him in trouble here and there, but that's a minor issue for someone who was pristine as a prospect in basically every other way.

If he had 33+ inch arms he would've been a top 15-20 pick for me, so I get him dropping to like early/mid-2nd, but early 3rd?

Please, we got lucky as fuck.

Purdy's still throwing those across the field YOLO passes and getting incredibly lucky to not get picked.

:lol @ Julian Edelman (commenting on Ayuk's holdout): "If you haven't won the big game you have to do what's best for the team, not what's best for yourself.".

Just got done watching Beebe's all-22 and it was truly a work of art.

Most of you saw the play where he put two guys on the ground (both starters for the Raiders by the way), but on the very first play of the game they ran right behind him for 9 on a perfectly executed combo where he chipped the DT before climbing to the LB at the 2nd level. It looked exactly like what Frederick did so well for years in the zone scheme that Garrett loved so much.

Not only that but there were 3 plays where he was 1-on-1 with Christian Wilkins, quite literally one of the best DT's in the league, and he clearly won every rep.

You can check the plays for yourself, there was a pass at 1-7:37 where we got called for a penalty but Beebe stonewalled Wilkins single-handedly on a bull rush. Then again on the next play at 1-7:17 he stoned him again, although he had Bass next to him not blocking anybody in case he needed help. And then the most impressive play was at 2-14:16 where Wilkins tried to beat him across his face and Beebe just slid with him and eased him out of the play.

It's completely insane that this guy has seemingly caught on this quickly with his snaps being damn near perfect. After the draft I said that there was potential with this group for a "Great Wall"-lite and I feel even more strongly now about that with how Guyton and Beebe have looked.

Smith is already a Pro Bowler, at least one if not both Guyton and Beebe will be, Bass can be something akin to Leary, and we might need one more guy who is above average or a stud depending on whether only one or both of Guyton/Beebe turn out to be Pro Bowl caliber. Dumbass Steele may be that "above average guy" along the lines of a Doug Free if he can get back to what he was, but we may need to find someone else there.

They won't be as good as Tyron/Frederick/Martin, but we only had 5 years (4 where they were together) of those guys, I'd take 8-10 years of a "lite" version of that any day.

Good shit, Simp.

And I meant to mention it but forgot to... But Nate Newton said during that scrimmage (or one of those practices they covered) that Steele's foot speed was back and he looked like himself again. He's not a sunshine pumper so I tend to believe him.

One can only hope because he was beyond horrific last year.
