I wasn‘t expecting Vander Esch back. And I am not certain he would be a benefit even if he tried to play. As for Goodwin, they might as well start his Assistant to the Assistant Special Teams Coach position since he won’t be burning a roster slot.

The main benefit of LVE last year was that he seemed to be the only guy who could play traffic cop, communicate and keep everyone on the same page. That doesn't seem to be much of an issue anymore with Clark and Bell in their second years, and they're already way more athletic than LVE to begin with, so it's kind of negligible at this point.

I've seen no noticeable drop off with Vander Esch out. If he comes back ok, if he doesn't ok. Next year I'm expecting Overshown to come back and I don't see much need for LVE moving forward. It's too bad that injuries have derailed his career but I'm not concerned one way or the other anymore.

Also, Rashaan Evans is working back up to a regular workload. He seems very LVE like in terms of statistics.
