That's him basically admitting to the way that irrational optimism and wishing upon a star is an organizational ethos.

Nobody's ass is truly on the line so they don't obsess over the details or turn over every stone looking for a competitive advantage, they're more than happy to live in their deluded world wishing and hoping that their way is right, without ever caring enough to be introspective and self-critical in order to move forward.

It's basically a hermit kingdom like North Korea.

I think a big part of the strategy is that Stephen knows they're going to soon have to extend Dak at around 50/year and they're using this year to try to cultivate youth/guys on cheap deals to fortify the roster over the next 2-4 years.

It's logical to an extent, but it's also only possible to think this way when you have literally no pressure to provide results in your role like Stephen and Jerry have.

I think when Jerry talks about that 1+1=3, Dream Big type stuff, he's not thinking of the football team. He's mostly talking about his financial kingdom. He's talking about how you have to think big and be optimistic to go from a relatively unknown Arkansas guy to a multibillionaire and NFL power broker.

I'd bet almost anything that when it comes to his real estate acquisitions, marketing, creative financing, etc he's an asskicker behind the scenes.
