I think we need a legit number 2 WR. Gallup isn't going to be ready for the first month or two of the season. And honestly, I don't think Gallup is a good enough #2 if you don't have a true number 1 WR. So basically yeah, I think we need to be hunting a legit 1 or 2 WR in this draft and not just a gadget guy. It's why letting Cooper go was dumb as shit.

I wouldn't say we need a high flying passing offense but we aren't going to be a dominant running team next year. First of all I don't think Moore and McCarthy have any idea how to do that. Second of all Zeke should prevent any thought of it. What we need to do it pass protect Dak better. And then probably still be a bit of a high flying passing team. Because that's what our coaches know and frankly Dak is a pretty damn good passer when he has really good protection. 35 times a game shouldn't be a problem for him at all. Just as long as it's not 50 passes a game. That's where we get in trouble.
Tape disagrees with that Dak take lol ... do you know what all 22 is ?

I've seen all the breakdowns. Dak's stats say something very different over his career. What I would say is that we sure as shit need to run the ball well enough to get teams out of playing a cover 2 shell and rushing 4 (And getting pressure) because we suck at beating that. Dak sucks at beating that. So we either need to protect better or run the ball better and preferably both. We are stuck with Dak, so he just need to play better than he did down the stretch last year.

But yes I have more faith in Dak passing the ball to stud WR's than I do Zeke rushing the ball behind any O-line.

So were only counting stats from the last few years now ? His stats from 2017 and 8 games in 2018 don't seem to say something different lol

While Elliott is an obvious issue in the running game, it's presumably only for another year. Re-orienting the offense around the running game is more of an idea with a 4-5 year window, so whether or not Elliott plays like shit next year isn't a huge issue for me in terms of building more around the run.

+ the fact that POLLARD is one of the best weapons this fucking team has. A Dak centered team will always end in the exact same manner it did last year. You can beat the scrubs but you have no chance vs good teams ...

I mean by that logic though Dak is only under contract what, 2 more years? So who knows after that. I get that your vision long term is elite defense and elite running game.

Sean Payton may look at a trash season and decide retirement sounds better.
The trash season sets up 2023 with some high draft picks.

It improves even more in 2024 with both Zeke and Tyron fully off the books.

Of course it's all facetious. I can't imagine a real coach like Sean willingly coaching for the Joneses.

'17 and '18?
You're living back then?

I don't blame you. Those were halcyon times.

The Jags always have a lot of cap too. Cap room doesn't really help a team win.

Why it’s a joke. Dude has a lick of sense about him he steers well clear and cashes in on Romo-money from TV. Maybe not as much money as Tony or Troy, but enough to make him forget coaching for a while.

Yeah I just think Stephen is scared shitless of negotiating contracts because he sucks at it and so he puts all the pressure on our guys running the draft instead. And it works to an extent but it also leaves us short. We are very good at drafting but you have to be way better then everyone else to have a chance if you're just not going to dable in free agency. Because everyone else is using free agency and the draft to get better.

We are basically playing with a handicap. And even with boat loads of free money nothing would change this strategy. They will just find internal guys to throw that money at like they have on the Jaylon Smith's and Zeke Elliots of the world.
