Get ready for Father Jerry to save another lost soul. :picard
Hey Malik McDowell scored a two game suspension today too. And we reportedly were looking at him a couple of months ago.

Only 29? Such a longtime ago he played for us, I would’ve bet he was 35-ish now.

Past or present (must be alive), you can have dinner with one Dallas Cowboy. Who and why?

Excerpts from Warren Sharp's 2019 Football Preview:

- 2018 Cowboys won nine games by one score. In these 6/9 of these games, Cowboys outscored in second half. From Weeks 10-17, Cowboys led by combined halftime score of 46-10 but outscored 37-10 in the third quarter.

- 1st half, Cowboys ranked #12 in offensive efficiency and defense #9 in Success Rate. In 3rd quarter, drops to #25 offensive efficiency and defense drops to #15.

- 1st half, Cowboys faced average 6.8 yards-to-go on 3rd down, better than league average. In 3rd quarter, Cowboys ranked third worst (8.4 yards). Consequently, third-down conversion drops from 42% (1st half) to 24% (3rd quarter) which is NFL's third-worst rate.

- Why this 3rd quarter drop? Warren Sharp attributes it to less-aggressive play-calling in 3rd quarter. 1st half, Cowboys passed 48% on 1st down with 8.0 yards per attempt. 3rd quarter, 41% pass plays on first-down, averaging 6.2 YPA.

- On 1st half first downs, Dak Prescott threw 19 passes +12-yards-in-air. On second half first downs, Dak threw just one such pass.

- Following a sack, Cowboys gained a first down only 13% of the time. Cowboys only scored a touchdown only 3.7% of drives with a sack.

- Dak's early-down passing rate grew from 45% (2016 and 2017) to 51% last year, but 51% is still 8th lowest in league.

- The Success Rate of 1st-and-10 passes to RBs were #4 highest in league. Only Christian McCaffrey and Todd Gurley got more 1st down targets.

- Red Zone:
1. Bottom 5 red zone offense with 38% Success Rate, NFL's 4th worst mark. Scored touchdowns on 48% of red zone drives. Even isolating drives post-Amari, Cowboys Success Rate was 35%, second lowest in league. Strikingly, red zone passing was 28% Success Rate.
2. Prescott runs were Cowboys most successful with 68% SUccess Rate, highest in the league with 6 TDs on 19 attempts. This Success Rate is 2nd highest rate in the past three seasons.
3. Ezekiel Elliott ranked 25th with 44% Success Rate and only 5TDs.

There's an easy explanation for all of this -- Jason Garrett.

Yeah, it's what Garrett does. Gets a lead, goes ultra conservative and then hopes Dak can pull it out of his ass at the end.
Not only that, but he isn't anywhere near astute enough as a football coach to make the proper adjustments or be proactive enough to change this.

Or kick a field goal to squeak by with the thinnest margin.
