Washington granted permission to speak with Seahawks OC Darrell Bevell for their HC job.

I like the coach. I would be disappointed to see them get him.
Most hardcore Seattle fans don't think all that highly of him.

I agree all around, but I've also started to try and rationalize this situation as well.

What if Zimmer gets a HC gig this offseason? That's a bad situation avoided once Garrett is fired next year.
I would take Zimmer right f'n now instead of Garrett. At least there's the unknown with Zimmer. That he might be a competent HC. We already know he is competent as a coordinator. Garrett struggled showing that as a coordinator, and sure as hell hasn't as a HC. We know what we have with him. Not much.

Zimmer surprised me.

He ended up fielding a pretty good D after getting out from the Jones Country Club.

On his second try, under Marvin Lewis who was the DC of the 2000 Ravens. I think he's doing a good job of running Lewis' defense, but never had a clue how to build one on his own before that.

Lovie will probably hook a brother up and take Leslie Frazier not Marinelli

That actually doesn't bother me at all, unless we are keeping Kiffin. Otherwise at least with Marinelli gone we won't have to tiptoe around him if we want Kiffin gone.

Of course, there's the real possibility that we are keeping Kiffin, and if that's true I'm not so sure Marinelli would want to leave.

And as I've said elsewhere, I'm pretty neutral on losing Marinelli. We were among the worst defenses in NFL history and he was a part of that.

Tedford is already signed on.
Good hire. That's what killed Smith in Chicago, his inability to get a good OC.

Now, the question becomes whether Jones will allow Marinelli out of his contract to go to Tampa as less than a defensive coordinator.

Tedford is a great hire. Now let's see if they go with Ichabod or try to get a veteran.

ESPN is reporting that Marinelli is going to the Bucs with Lovie.

If that is the case, then fuck it...fire Kiffin.

He's completely useless without one of his lieutenants on the defensive staff.
