Browns Wanted To Hire Bill Parcells

Feb 12, 2014 1:15 PM EST

The Cleveland Browns wanted Bill Parcells to run the front office.

Joe Banner and Mike Lombardi were recently let go by the Browns with Ray Farmer assuming general manager duties.

Parcells consulted with Jimmy Haslam extensively, but no job offer was reportedly made.

Parcells explained in an e-mail that he talked to the Browns "only about how I believe organizations succeed and others fail."

Parcells is 72 years old and hasn't been part of the game since running the front office of the Miami Dolphins.

Colts should sign him. Maybe he can find a sucker to give up a 1st for Richardson again.

Belichick is a cool guy.

He always takes back the disgraced losers who fail elsewhere without him.

I'd be very surprised if he didn't have Dallas on his lists of "don'ts"
