MCL could sideline Tyrone Crawford
November, 3, 2014

By Todd Archer | ESPNDallas.com

IRVING, Texas – Dallas Cowboys defensive tackle Tyrone Crawford could miss Sunday’s game against the Jacksonville Jaguars with a sprained medial collateral ligament in his right knee, according to a source.

With the bye week following the Cowboys’ trip to London, there is hope Crawford would be able to return Nov. 23 against the New York Giants but that is not a given.

Crawford suffered the injury in the fourth quarter of the Cowboys’ 28-17 loss to the Arizona Cardinals on a play near the goal line. A more severe sprain could have cost Crawford four to six weeks.

He has started every game this season but saw his production increase greatly since moving to defensive tackle in the fourth game of the season. While he is still looking for his first sack, he is second on the defense in quarterback pressures.

If Crawford can’t play then Henry Melton would likely return to the starting lineup. Davon Coleman, who has not played since September, would likely move into the defensive line rotation.
