Weed is the most readily available drug. Odds are if you are going to be an addict you start with that.
Exactly, except I would use the term 'user' over 'addict' because I have known a ton of people who smoke weed and only a very small percentage of them ever developed serious drug addiction.

Really though alcohol is the biggest gateway drug. No question about it. That is the high that most people first experience and generally most people that go beyond alcohol will try weed because of its availability. Let's bring back alcohol prohibition too!

It's because weed is an illegal substance. When you go to a drug dealer to get weed, the drug dealer is there pushing harder drugs. When you legalize Weed you separate the two things. Suddenly when someone is going to a legal distributor they aren't being subjected to the harder drugs. The only thing available at the dispensary is weed.
Yeah, I kinda said that already. #coattailrider

Don't be surprised if Forts wants to outlaw alcohol, tobacco, and birth control. He could be a big Rick Santorum fan.

Remember, all the police unions and associations in Texas opposed concealed carry when they first passed it here in Texas, though some including forts have gotten used to the idea after they figured out that criminals wouldn't get licenses. Cops hate not having control of something.

Alcohol by far causes much more damage. I'd say that alcohol clouds judgment a ton more as well. That alone makes it a more dangerous drug.

Make weed legal and let's move on with life.

I think it would make things way better if we just had breathalizer's for weed. It's not a helpful indication of someone's sobriety to tell if they've smoked in the last month.

I think some devices are in the works that will be capable of detecting if someone smoked weed within a much shorter period of time.

Don't be so dramatic. I drink occasionally, I just do it at home or when I know I won't be driving. My lovely wife smokes though she is trying to quit again. I pray she can. I have no issues with BC despite being Catholic, but I am against abortion. I have always supported concealed carry and currently hope open carry passes so do you have any other stereotypes you care to try and pin me down with? And I'd have rather had Santorum that Obama so yeah in that instance.

I can't believe I forgot to add porn and homosexuality to the list. IIRC, they are on Santorum's hit list along with BC. Either way, you tend toward being a big government republican in political threads so wanting to ban everything that offends you fits.

By the way, I don't care if their are some negative aspects of legalized marijuana. Everything people do will have a negative impact on society in one way or another. Just because people die boating every year isn't a reason to ban boating. People are harmed playing in the NFL every year. We don't ban football. So hearing a couple instances of someone possibly acting inappropriate because they are high carries basically no weight in this argument.

Marijuana isn't so dangerous to society that we need to protect the public from it. Something would have to be pretty highly destructive for me to consider a ban on it to be acceptable.

You need to read my posts again. I tend to be anti big government and conservative. Porn is good by the way! gayness, not so good. And I don't want bans on everything that offends me so suck it and quit exaggerating homey. :flip

I never said take over the schools smarty pants. I said that homosexuality will be taught in schools as an acceptable/alternate lifestyle to heterosexuality. And then I showed you where it is already happening in some places. And now since you bring it up, you have schools foregoing traditional boy/girl bathroom arrangements and either allowing or planning on allowing kids to go into the restroom they self identify with. Really? Anybody see how that can go wrong?

All of us will be long dead before the status quo of gender identity changes. None of our infrastructure is built with gender fluidity as an option. Some weirdo schools on the west coast may try some experimental shit. But it's not really a sign of things to come.

The problem with conservatism is that it sees anything new and extrapolates that as a sign of inevitable change. That's the "war on Christmas" fallacy. Soon we'll all be sent to camps and have our genders taken away by that bastard Al Gore!

Not really a lot of the new tech companies and others owned by younger people have unisex bathrooms.

And I don't see how its bad to look at a alternate lifestyle as acceptable, what side would you have come down on in the segregation debates?

The problem with liberalism is that it views everything through the lens of equality when things are not all equal and many can never be. I never said it was inevitable, I said that there were many on the left that will try attempt to force these things into schools and some have. The rest of your statement is just dribble so stop it.

The companies you speak of employ adults, not children.

Please don't make the moronic comparison of race issues with LGBT issues.

And you wonder why people say you bring race into everything?

No I wonder why you stalk me on anything race related, do you get some kind of google alert.
He's right, though. You bring race up any chance you get.

That's the first time I've commented on anything your dumb ass has said in quite awhile.

And this thread had nothing to do with race, (until you crowbarred it in, of course) so there's no stalking anything race related, Al. Nice try, though.
