BEVERLY HILLS, Calif. (AP) -- The NFL draft is leaving New York after 49 years.

NFL Commissioner Roger Goodell said Thursday that the league has narrowed down the location of the 2015 draft to Los Angeles or Chicago. The event has been held in New York every year since 1965 and has been at Radio City Music Hall since 2006.

Goodell said after a panel at the summer TV critics' meeting that 12 cities were interested in hosting the draft, according to the Los Angeles Times. But the league narrowed the finalists to Los Angeles and Chicago after Radio City officials told the NFL that the venue wouldn't be available in April or May.

Goodell said a final decision on the location could be made by late summer.

He said the league is discussing different concepts for next year's draft because there is high interest and the NFL wants to be responsive to its fans.

He wounded it by putting it to three days.

Now he has stabbed the draft in the heart.

Pure greed coupled with stupidity.

Moving the draft out of NY will kill it?

Doubtful, but I'm worried what the bolded part means.

Well, moving it to four days, for example.
They have also talked about having it in multiple venues during the same draft.

This league is for the masses.

Gotta have the "new and improved" label to drum up their interest.

All players wear pink ties in the green room for breast cancer awareness.

I hoe they move it around. If it ends up in Tampa, I'll go to all 3 days. I'll make sure my posts are in red so you know my info is legit.

I don't care about them moving it around, I just don't want them going from city to city each night of it.

"Bud Light is proud to sponsor the upcoming selection. And with the sixth pick of the 1st round of the 2015 NFL draft, Bud Light and the Buffalo Bills select..."

I wouldn't at all be surprised if something like this happens at some point.

I really don't care what they do to the draft at this point.

They ruined it for me when they decided to make it a 3 day event and essentially eliminated our draft Saturday's forever.

With that gone, there is nothing that can make it better or worse for me so I say WGAS what they do.

I couldn't care less about moving the location of the draft but this dipshit has to stop with the constant tweaks, 15 years from now there will be 10 picks per day for a month straight.

I want to know what dumbass fans are asking for these changes.

Real hardcore NFL fans hate what he has done just like the executives do.

This is pandering to make it an event like the Oscars to the casual fan.

Exactly....I was going to say that too.

Every football fan that I know all agree that the draft was ruined when they moved it from Saturday to a 3 day event. Next to the Super Bowl, that was the one event that all football fans made an entire day out of.

Beer, BBQ, and tons of football......how I miss it. :cry

I'm not sure whose death I'll cheer more.... Jerry's or Goodell's.
