If a 3 techinique presented himslf, I would move Crawford back to DE in Spencer's spot then back inside on 3rd down.
Me too. Crawford had a great year and he's a player I have no problem starting next year if nothing else comes along that's better, but the direction I want the defense to go in would be having a two-deep DL anyway where a player like Crawford sees his effectiveness multiplied because he's hitting the offense fresh as a part of a devastating rotation.

I want a Suh-level player there and I don't think Crawford is THAT kind of player. So I'm ok if he ends up in the rotation but not starting.

Just exactly how many of those do you see in the NFL right now...?

Speaking of which... does anyone think Maranelli might have Jones make a go at him (Suh) in FA?
I don't think he's a Marinelli type guy. He's always had more of the lunchpail type, not the attention grabbers.

Well I'd say Aaron Donald is that type of high end prospect and he was just in last year's draft.
Was praying for Donald to fall to us last year. Still happy with Martin, but Donald was an absolute beast over the second half of the season.

So you think he's at that level or not? This whole prospect thing is a cover your ass form of phrasing...
IF you think he is Suh-level that makes one, how many more, and feel free to consider this years draft prospects...

Great DTs (HoF quality) don't come around that often. There's like a max of 3 in the league at any one time.

I think there is an elite level of DTs in this league which Suh is in, Donald can very soon be in, and Crawford is not.

Low key in personality, not in regards to a signing.
Well I guess if we are just talking about personality then Warren Sapp certainly comes to mind. I think the only thing Marinelli really gives a shit about is how hard a guy works and if he goes 100% on the field. Both things Suh does.

While there are more than 100 days until the draft, we can almost guarantee the Cowboys will lean defensively in the first round. Almost.
Our run-first offense is staring at a backfield of Joseph Randle, Lance Dunbar, Tyler Clutts, and a guy who didn't play football in 2014.

With Romo's window closing by the second, I'd say Dallas is primed to draft a RB first.

He is past the pinnacle of his career.
I'd have to agree. At this point in his career he's a pass rush specialist who needs to pick his moments. A very good signing, but at the low money Dallas would be able to afford GB might as well re-sign him.

If Gordon is there I think it is very likely that he is the BPA, same wit Gurley if he checks out medically. I'd love to get a guy like Goldman, Brown, Shelton or Dupree at 27 but it's very possible, maybe even probable that they are all gone.

So do we reach for DL who probably shouldn't go for another 15-20 picks or do we go RB or another position?

It's also very possible that Gordon is gone as well and that Gurley doesn't check out, and I like alot of the RB's in the 2nd-3rd area so we'll see.
