Giants left guard Justin Pugh said during the week that he intended to return to the lineup after missing the last four games with a knee injury.
He added that he intended to help the Giants “give [the Cowboys] another loss” on Sunday night to go with the one the Giants handed them in the season opener. That’s the only loss of Dallas’ season, but another one will have to come without any contribution from Pugh. Marshall Newhouse will replace him once again.
Despite his intentions, Pugh is inactive for Sunday Night Football. Quarterback Josh Johnson, wide receiver Tavarres King, safety Nat Berhe, defensive end Owa Odighizuwa, defensive end Jason Pierre-Paul and linebacker Mark Herzlich are also inactive for the Giants. Romeo Okwara will start in Pierre-Paul’s place.
The Cowboys will play without quarterback Mark Sanchez, wide receiver Lucky Whitehead, cornerback Morris Claiborne, safety J.J. Wilcox, running back Darius Jackson, defensive end Ryan Davis and tackle Chaz Green.
