I wasn't sure if I'd put Bonds on a list with those kind of accomplished athletes, but then I looked at his yearly numbers again. Forget the 73 hr season, the man just flat out balled for a long time. 7 MVP's with 2 years as runner up. Phenom.

I was reading this somewhere else and some douche said Favre. Dumb

Anyway, I think it is much tougher to name an NFL player in those category. I mean, Deion maybe? That's a tough one.

It is pretty amazing that we had Lily, Deion and Allen. I'd say 3 of the most dominant players at their position ever. Larry Allen was just a monster.

Shaq was the definition of a dominant player.

He was absolutely unstoppable in his prime.

If Bonds can be on the list then so can Lance Armstrong.

Wayne Gretzky, Jackie Joyner Kersey, Annika Sorenstam, Mario Lemiuex, Ken Griffey Jr, Barry Sanders...Peyton Manning and Tom Brady certainly had as big of an impact on their sport as anyone.

Jim Brown has to at least be in the conversation.

Jerry Rice, Lawrence Taylor for the NFL, and if you want to put Barry Sanders in there you might as well mention Emmitt.

This would be correct if it was in the last 25 years.
Can't believe it's already been 50 freakin' years since he played. Seems just like yesterday, eh LT?

There are quite a few.

I am not a baseball person; but how about Mariano Rivera?

Ed Moses in Track and Field was untouchable for about 15 years.

Tiger circa 2000-2006 is right there as well.

Interesting question; I like the term sportsmen rather than athlete. And in that case, AP McCoy is high on the list.

Marita Koch (suspicious) still holds the WR for the 400M, which she set in 1985. Product of East Germany. Still impressive though.
