OXNARD, Calif. -- Cowboys cornerback Chidobe Awuzie took himself out of practice Saturday after suffering a knee injury. He's also dealing with a sore groin.

While the team will be careful with the projected starter who has been a standout in the first two weeks of camp, it is not overly concerned.
Coach Jason Garrett said he expects Awuzie to be "OK," and the Cowboys will take his situation day-by-day.

Awuzie suffered a hamstring injury during his rookie training camp last season that became a lingering issue for the first half of the season.

Awuzie watched the morning walkthrough Sunday with his knee wrapped. Anthony Brown took his first-team spot, with Jourdan Lewis getting snaps as the slot corner.

God dammit.
Not trying to be negative, but it didn't look all that minor.

"day to day" in Dallas talk means "see you on opening day"

Frankly I just want him ready for week one. Get him healthy we need him more than we need to keep him in preseason.

Shit, the non-contact injuries are usually the worse.

Chidobe Awuzie, who was limited in Sunday’s session with health issues, was a full participant Monday...

Starting cornerback Chidobe Awuzie has practiced well the last two days after missing a session with a sore left knee and a sore groin. Awuzie has moved well since his return and should be okay to play in Thursday’s game.

“I just tweaked it, that’s all it was,” Awuzie said. “The day off, recommended by the trainers, it feels good. This is football, everybody plays through aches and pains. It was just a bruise, so it wasn’t anything serious.”

Scare averted.
