Actually, this would be the opposite of me wanting to watch the world burn. I want us to keep our premium picks. I don't want to give up a 3rd for him, much less a 2nd or more. Give up a high pick or two, and I will be the one wailing and gnashing teeth. I've always said I'd be ok with a 4th. I could maybe be talked into a 3rd, but it would still have a sour taste to it for me.
I like the player. I really do. I think he would look great in our secondary. And if I thought we were just a safety away from making a serious run, I'd be on board with it. But I don't see it. Not this year, at least.
Now next year? When he's a free agent? Hell yeah. Come on in. I'd be willing to give him a nice sized contract. To go along with our full contingent of draft picks and another off season to get the offense up to speed.
