Yeah. It's just frustrating when you don't have an idea of what you're really facing.
Just hang in and stay strong for your mate. I’m sure you will hear soon. Are you in a large or small community? That affects medical practices a lot especially on things like waiting for test results. Keeping a vigil for both of you.

Her name is Vicky Nix and we just found out today. So if any of you heathens want to send any thoughts her way, she would appreciate it and every little bit helps. It will be hard to beat at 65.
I just saw this DLK Sorry to hear it my friend and my entire family will keep you and Vicky in our hearts, minds and prayers sir.

Smaller community, one major hospital nearby. She's too weak to make it upstairs to go to bed or take a shower right now. She has a hard time just getting out to the garage into the car. Had to call EMTs out more than once to help because if she falls, she's basically dead weight.

We tried to set up Real Services but our household income is too high and her insurance won't pay for visiting nurses or bath aides. She's not a small woman and I can't just pick her up and carry her around. Wanted to move from this fricking split level to a single floor apartment but she's fricking hardheaded. It is what it is...

I’m sorry. Maybe something will break for you. That’s what I am hoping.

Very sorry to hear about this, DLK. Best of luck staying strong and positive.

This bolded part of the quote just drives me nuts, though, and it seems to affect a lot of us. Make too much money to qualiy for this, but your insurance company refuses to do this...as if going through cancer isn't bad enough.

Since I started this, I'll keep it updated.

She's going to IU hospital down in Indy to have a good hunk of her liver removed on Wednesday because even with three major hospitals around here, there are no surgeons up here that do that sort of thing.

It's around 200 miles south of here and her sister is going to take her since I've never driven down there and I don't want to screw up and get lost since I'm awful with directions.

The good news is, it's operable and livers will regenerate on their own. It's supposed to be outpatient surgery but I'm skeptical.

Well I am hopeful for the very reasons you have stated. I am skeptical that it will be day surgery. That is a serious operation and I would think requires at a minimum a time of observation to be sure that Vicky dealt with the body trauma from this procedure. I am hopeful the malignancy is contained to the area of the surgery. Keep the faith and think positive. The vigil continues.

I will continue to respond on the forum as long as you are posting there. If you prefer to go to the message system just let me know.

Thank you guys.

Yeah, I doubt it will be outpatient surgery. She's already weak, the surgery will leave her sedated and hard to transport, plus it's a long haul down there both ways, at least four-five hours each way.

Well, she passed away at around 5:30 PM eastern time today. I did visit with her an hour before but she was already fading and her sister called me with the news... Fucking surreal, it happened so fast and was completely out of left field.
