NFL teams were informed Monday that a fourth player, former Oregon State linebacker Bright Ugwoegbu, was added to the list of eligible prospects for the league's July 11 supplemental draft.
Ugwoegbu, a redshirt senior with 20 career starts, was suspended in April by new head coach Jonathan Smith and opted to declare for the draft rather than pursue a transfer.
He finished fifth on the team with 55 tackles, including 4.5 for loss, last season.
The 6-foot-1, 226-pound Ugwoegbu lacks ideal bulk but shows good quickness and awareness to slip blocks with an attacking style that could draw the interest of linebacker, defensive back and special teams coaches to a pro day workout.
He possesses relatively long arms for his compact frame and is a smooth accelerator, offering intriguing traits for a chase linebacker or rover role, but he currently carries a free agent grade from NFLDraftScout.com, checking in 56th on our board among 2019 outside linebackers.
Ugwoegbu joins Western Michigan cornerback Sam Beal, Virginia Tech cornerback Adonis Alexander and Mississippi State safety Brandon Bryant in one of the most intriguing supplemental draft classes in years.
All three defensive backs are considered draftable, with Beal getting stamped with a third-round grade by NFLDraftScout.com's Dane Brugler.
