My original statement addressed that Witten was having to block before he went into a pattern and this shortened his route. It had nothing to do with how many passes it had to do wth his effectiveness because his average catches are not as long.
Repeating it doesn't make it any less silly.

Remember, he had the 2nd most targets on the team. And if his first priority is to block before going out in a route, just how long do you think Prescott has to throw? Does he go through his first, second, and maybe third reads before Witten releases to go out on the route, and has the ball thrown to him in this supposed shortened route? Come on, now.

He gets the most but they are now shorter gains and therefore not as effective.

It's a really bad argument to make. It's based purely in fantasy land.

Witten would have been been much more valuable if Romo was still around. They'd played together so long that Romo knew where he'd be on every play. He didn't have to be ipen, Romo would chuck it.
Chemistry like that can’t be taught. Dak has a long road ahead, but playoff success is still possible.

Just need better defense and much less arrogant and stubborn coaching.
