Cowboys will place Brian Price on injured reserve

Posted by Charean Williams on November 6, 2017, 4:45 PM EST

Cowboys defensive tackle Brian Price will undergo knee surgery Tuesday, with the team placing him on injured reserve, coach Jason Garrett announced Monday.

Price was injured in the fourth quarter Sunday. He played nine snaps and made one tackle.

For the season, Price appeared in all eight games, playing 149 defensive snaps and making eight tackles and three quarterback pressures.

Cowboys executive vice president Stephen Jones said on his weekly radio show on 105.3 The Fan that the Cowboys will “have to probably be looking at a replacement there.”

The Cowboys claimed Price off waivers from the Packers after Green Bay cut him Sept. 2.
-----------

Probably will end up just doing the lazy thing and promote Lewis Neal.

Most likely. Gawd forbid we actually put some legwork into looking for someone to fill in, lazy front offices do crap like that.

The front office has done a phenomenal job of finding people IMO.

David Irving was a find.

Price was a classically decent pick up.

Neal had a nice preseason.

Don't know WTF you guys expect?

Dig up Cortez Kennedy to play DL?

What would be the non-lazy thing to do?
The same thing that brought a player like Irving into the fold. Instead, we will likely just go with Neal.

Why would Neal be a bad thing?

He's not a 1.
Yeah we really need a big guy and not a 3 technique. Mostly because Collins feels like he is being wasted playing the 1 and frankly he is getting beat up doing it.

I don't know why she worded it this way. He is a placeholder they will probably dump after the Atlanta game. If they are putting him on the PS, then Neal gets the call up.

Terp.

He was a decent rotational player in New England a few years ago but at this point we're probably just signing him for intel on the Falcons.

More likely than not, I had forgotten all about him so he was completely off my radar.
