How does this happen in this day of rookie capped contracts?

It isn't like he can negotiate for what he thinks his value is, the new scale now determines what the 3rd pick in the draft is worth, so how is it that he's holding out?

Is his agent asking for #1 pick money?

Sounds like the payout of the guaranteed is the biggest hang up. He wants more of it early in the contract.
